Summary of reviews

Stagg Classic Chili has been a beloved choice for many families, praised for its hearty flavor and satisfying texture. However, recent changes in the recipe have led to increased spiciness, causing disappointment among long-time fans. Guests appreciate the chili's robust taste and natural ingredients, making it a versatile option for meals like chili dogs or as a comforting dish on its own. Many hope for a return to the milder original recipe.

Our family has loved your Classic Chili for years...the last two times we purchased the chili was way too hot to eat. I thought I had purchased the Dymanite Hot by mistake. Maybe this Classic Chili is mis-labled? Anyway, after two cans in a row being very hot I will not be purchasing again. Sorry...

I used to love this. I bought it once recently and was shocked to see it was changed to spicy... The packaging looked the same but it is super spicy now. If it was going to be changed, the consumers should have been warned! It has to be diluted to be edible now.

Hi I love stag chili. I wish there was one that had no spice as it is making my nose run. I'm fairly new to stagg but I noticed a lot of other reviews say go back to the old recipe. I never had it but I def agree.

This chili has been the best, the only kind my family will eat for decades and now we can barely enjoy it at all due to its spiciness being increased to the point it is no longer enjoyable. My children can't eat it anymore without pain and we just can't for the life of us understand why this company would think that was necessary. I've seen y'all have your fire crazy hot one we would obviously never touch to begin with but this might as well be that now and it has turned our go to into our no thanks..... and that's unfortunate because there isn't another quality canned chili on the market in my opinion. Please fix it, we really miss it and the way it is now for these customers, it's inedible.

For someone that has a low spice threshold, but loves flavor, I am not a fan of the new version of this chili. It definitely has a strong enough kick that it leans to a 'no' from my and my family going forward. I saw someone else say it is 'thrice as spicy' as it used to be, and felt this adequately explained our experience. If the Classic is now on the spicier side, will Stagg introduce a milder version?

This has been our go-to chili for chili dogs for well over a decade. The last two meals were totally ruined by the unexpected change of spiciness. If I want spicy, I'll buy it!

Sorry to hear this! We are aware of this issue and it has since been resolved. However, there will still be plenty of cans out there with a hotter than normal spice level. I will be reaching out for more info.

DO NOT buy this product unless you like VERY SPICY CHILI. It should be labeled as "super spicy." I took two bites, almost threw up, and my tongue is still burning. I can't afford to waste food, but I'm going to have to throw out this mouth burner.

Either the recipe changed, or there was a mixup. This was my go to chili for years. This week I bought a few cans and I couldn't believe how spicy it is. I actually thought I bought the wrong version, until I checked the label. If this was intentional, could you at least mention the recipe changed on the label.

I'm 45 and have been eating this chili since I was a child. It's the only canned chili I will eat, and my kids loved it too. The last time I bought it it was too spicy for all of us! I couldn't even finish mine as it was hurting my stomach. In all the years I've been eating Stagg classic it's never been too spicy. I really hope you go back to the original formula and let us know when it's fixed! I won't be buying it again until I know it's back to normal.

My household has been enjoying the Classic Chili with Beans for about a decade. It was our go to chili. When it was out of stock we went without. I'm saying we were diehard fans. Now, not one of us can eat it! It is so spicy! Why ruin a great recipe? This was a horrible change to make to a once pretty awsome product. Maybe you could market this new recipe as your "spicy version" and return the "original" to production for your customers who don't like the change. So disappointed.
