Q: Is there a rim around the edge of the plates? In the image I can see online, they look more like a bowl.

A: There is a slight indentation, but not an actual rim. It is not like a bowl.

These are very good quality for a good price. I was excited to receive the set, but 3 of the 6 were broken. Not one "fragile" sticker on the box of ceramic plates! Customer service was great when I returned them, so that was nice. But for an online only item not available in stores, I still had to drive to a store to return. I'm not sure if I'll try to re-order.
