Q: I wear glasses...do these down eye caps?

submitted by shelowrey - 5 years ago
  • A: The eye cups fold back, if that is your question. I wear glasses, too. I can focus them to accommodate my nearsightedness without using glasses. I have observed for relatively long periods without glasses, and did not experience any eyestrain. I tried to view with my glasses on, just to answer your question, and it is definitely less comfortable, but doable. You need to recognize that because of the high magnification the "exit pupil" is small, that is basic optics. It makes it hard to line up the two images with your eyes. I would recommend setting the "interpupillary distance" with eye glasses off . Eye relief is a separate question. The eye relief - the comfortable distance between your eye and the eyepiece - is quite poor. That is due to inexpensive optics. A good eyepiece with better eye relief would cost five times as much as these binoculars for just one eye. If you want to spend about $600 bucks for a pair of binoculars, there are better ones out there.

Impossible to focus... I'm going to give them to someone whom I dislike.
