Q: Does this bed end up making squeaks after put together? I had purchased a Zinus bed before and ended up having to put those cloth spacers with every screw to avoid that awful squeaking when getting in and out of bed.
submitted by Kris - 4 years ago
A: Hi! There shouldn't be anything that would make the slats squeak and there haven't been any reviews complaining of squeaking.

I'm so disappointed with my purchase and wish I would have been able to see the issues before everything was already opened and started putting it together. I've attached pictures of most of the issues. The headboard frame was scratched and had a couple bent bars. But that ended up being the least of the issues. For starters, only a handful of the thread holes actually lined up with the holes they were inside of. So the bolts had to go into them couldn't fit or went in at a weird angle. (Photo attached because I know that sounds confusing.) There are 2 holes I can't get anything into at all. The footboard is backwards! There's no way to turn it around either because of how the holes are. The part that faces you as you walk into the room should have smooth squares on the bars and you see the screws instead. The center frame bar isn't long enough to reach the hole where the bolt goes in. It's all just super frustrating. I do not recommend it.
Major design and structure flaws.

I don’t write reviews, but I’d feel guilty if I didn’t warn people about this bed. Don’t make the same mistake, invest in another bed. 1) The way the build of the bed works contradicts the aesthetics. When you attach the legs of the head of the bed to the crossbars, you can only do so in a way that causes the screws on the gold squares to face forward. So rather than have solid gold squares on the head of your bed, like the pictures show on Target.com, the bolts show. (See pictures for reference.) We tried to see if there was anything we can do to fix this issue and there isn’t. The legs and cross bars can only be attached to what should be the backside of the head. This is a huge design flaw, especially for a $600+ bed frame. 2) Even worse...the little legs that are supposed to support the center of the bed do not do their job. Any time my husband and I get too close to the center, the legs bend and the bed collapses. I weigh about 145 lbs and he weighs about 200 lbs. Pretty average adult weights that shouldn’t cause a king size bed to collapse within the first 2 days of owning it! My husband is pretty handy and has tried to manipulate the center legs by re-tightening them, adding washers, placing a towel under them...nothing works. We’ve only had this bed for a total of 4 nights and are praying they’ll let us return it. Such a shame, it’s very pretty. But the design and quality are pure garbage.
