Q: I have laminated wood floors and I want to buy the mat now do I need to buy additional slip to protect the floors?

A: Hello, Thank you for your question. Our Ecotex Polypropylene Chair Mats have an anti-slip backing which helps prevent your chair mat from moving on hardwood flooring. We do not suggest the use of an additional slip beneath the mat as the weight of the user and chair should be enough to prevent movement of the mat. Our anti-slip backing is proven to increase friction with flooring as well as increase stability, however, the anti-slip performance will vary slightly on different types on flooring. The anti-slip coating on the Polypropylene Chair Mat is produced where a thin layer of Polyethylene film is co-extruded onto the polypropylene chair mat during production which creates the anti-slip base. This is exactly what I needed to protect my hardwood floors from the wear and tear of the rolling desk chair. It looks great in my office and the chair glides easily on top. And the best thing of all, no assembly required!
