Nite Ize Mini Rechargable LED Safety Necklace Disc-O Adjustable Dog Collar

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and haven't been able to find a single cord that can charge it without me having to hold it in place.

I loved this for my dog, but it stopped holding a charge only a month and two days after I bought it. It would light up for only a few minutes, then go dead, even when it should have been full charged. I'm trying to reach the customer service, wondering if it's a fluke and I received one with a bad battery. When it worked, it was great.

I bought these for my dogs over 5 years ago and they’re still running strong! I get complements almost every night I walk my dogs. I’m not sure why people are complaining on some of these reviews!! It’s not really that hard to find a cable and charge them lol… LITEn up (pun intended) already! Har har

I absolutely love the idea of the NiteHowl® Mini Rechargeable LED Safety Necklace - Disc-O Select™! It's amazing and incredibly bright, making it perfect for walking my little pups at night. However, I’ve encountered some issues. I’ve purchased three collars, and unfortunately, two of them have already stopped turning on or charging. The first time this happened, I contacted the company and used their Worry-Free Guarantee, which was a smooth process. But now with the second collar failing, I’m hesitant about whether to give it another chance or switch to another brand altogether. This product is fantastic when it works, but the reliability has been disappointing for me. I hope this feedback helps improve the product’s quality!

I have had 2 of these for about 2 years now. Use them a lot when letting Dogs run on dark beach at night. They have stopped holding a charge as most rechargeable batteries do. Can I replace the rechargeable battery in these?

I loved the item! However it died/would not recharge after less than a year’s use (about 10 months.

I bought 3 of these for my dogs for Christmas. It says they were rechargeable which they are Not! They are battery operated and the batteries wiggle around and will not stay in place. The screw to get that back off is extremely small so it’s not easy to access. I would NOT recommend this product. I bought mine Dec 2024

I love the visibility this collar gives our dog on her night walk, plus it's so cute in Disco mode!! However, I didn't understand about sizing, so I ordered the mini for our 19# corgi. It gets lost in her fur! I like it so much I'm reordering in the regular and will share the mini with a neighbor.

We travel a lot and camp in Baja Mx. Our dog Jessie Jane is always a Star on the beaches, especially after dark. It gives me a piece of mind where she is in the dark desert. I have purchased these for all my families dogs.

I thought this was a very cool and fun idea for my dog. However, not including a micro USB is just stupid - I just happened to have one! I see others did not, but what I’m finding most annoying is that I cannot figure out how on earth I am suppose to cut and shorten just a little. I’ve pulled, I’ve tugged, I’ve twisted, nothing. And no instructions on the packaging AND I’ve tried without luck to find any instructions under the “reviews and instructions” tab! I am pretty capable of figuring things out - without instructions, but this is ridiculous. It’s going back!

I have two if the same or these collars. While they look great when they work, I have two and one simple can't be charged, or won't turn on. Since buying I have moved countries and sadly don't have the packaging or receipt anymore, so not sure how to go about an exchange. I kinda wish I had gone with the battery version now.

Picked this up for our dog and loved it, until the batteries died. They say its rechargeable, but it isn't. When it's dead, it's dead. I tried multiple cords, multiple outlets, multiple charging blocks, nothing. Would be a great product if it actually worked.

I've had a couple of snafus using this LED collar for my dog and customer service has been excellent in responding to my issues and covering the warranty quickly. Love this collar for my dog but you need to be careful taking the charging cover on and off since it can pop off easily. Nite Ize is also sending me a replacement since my collar isn't charging properly anymore. Again, excellent service and product support.

I really thought this collar was a perfect solution for my black dog at night. It worked great at first-- I LOVE the color-changing Disc-O mode. Unfortunately, I've found that the runtime of the collar between charges has been drastically reduced after a little over a year. I understand that rechargeable batteries can only recharge for so many cycles before they lose their capacity to hold as much of a charge, but I expected this to perform for much longer than it has... especially considering I have a Nite Ize bug light that is at least a decade old and still going strong. Additionally, I've found the collar less than ideal for cold and dark winters, which was the primary reason for my purchase. The "adjustable" design, specifically, does not perform as intended in colder climates. In cold weather, the plastic tubular collar does not stay stuck in the rubber sleeve containing the LED. This means the collar detaches from the light source and falls off my dog entirely with just a bit of movement, like when he shakes snow off himself or the leash bumps the collar. I can't even count the number of times I've had to tromp through the snowy woods at night to retrieve this collar after it fell off him. I'm really bummed about this collar's performance because I love the concept and the colors are so fun. I bought this at a local pet shop and don't have proof of purchase to utilize Nite Ize's "worry-free guarantee". I recommend buying online and/ or keeping your receipt just in case the collar you get has the same performance issues. Also, if you have a dog with longer fur, you might want to try a flat light-up collar because this one can become hidden in fur very easily. At the time/ place of my purchase, the NiteHowl Max was not available and I'm curious if the shape of that collar might prevent the issues I've had with cold-weather performance.

Changing colors ensures visability

I bought the NiteHowl Mini for my 12lb dog. The necklace is a perfect fit, no cutting required. Different colored lights are very bright and this makes it easy to keep track of the dog when he goes out into the yard when it is dark. I gave it 4 stars because it does not have a blinking option - colors are all static with the exception of the multicolor mode which is a fade in/out rotation thru the colors. Having a flashing/blinking option would make it a great deterrent for avian and coyote predators.

This LED necklace worked great until it ran out of batteries. It did not hold any charge after trying to recharge it. I’m not sure if this is a common defect. Happy to discuss it with a company representative.

I love the gradual changes in the colors. Since the necklace comes in 2 sizes and is adjustable, it's very versatile. I highly recommend it for 4 and 2 legged friends. This has potential use in mixed media projects beyond it's stated purpose.

This is my second one. The first one I bought stopped charging after only having it for 1 month. So, I bought a second one thinking the 1st one was just a fluke, but it did the same thing after just 2 uses! Once it stopped charging properly, you have to jimmy the charger to a certain angle for it to charge, just like an old iphone. But they both ultimately stopped charging. Cheap internal parts
