HOW TO USE:
STEP 1: REFRESH YOUR DISC
If it’s your first time using your Flex Reusable Disc, give it a quick wash with warm water and a mild soap or cleanser. To completely sanitize your disc in between periods, boil it for 10 minutes on the stove (do not allow your disc to come in contact with the sides or bottom of the pot).

STEP 2: GET READY TO INSERT
Take a breath and relax! Get into a comfortable position—you can try sitting on the toilet, squatting with your legs open, or standing with one leg up.

STEP 3: INSERT THE DISC
Insert the pinched disc (notch side first) down and back towards your tailbone as far back as it will comfortably go. Then, tuck the front rim of the disc up behind your pubic bone.

STEP 4: 12-HOUR WEAR
Experience freedom. Do everything you love to do when you're not on your period—swim, sleep, squat, study, or summit. Heavy flow? No problem. Flex Discs can self-empty when you pee. This means you'll never have to walk around with a full disc all day. After you pee or poo, use a clean finger to simply tuck the disc back into place and you're set for the remainder of your 12-hour wear.

*Please follow the full Instructions for Use within the box prior to use.
**To clean your Flex Reusable Disc, simply empty your disc, rinse with cool water (helps prevent staining), apply a mild soap or cleanser, lather, and rinse again with warm water. At the end of your cycle, sanitize by boiling (see instructions) and store it in its carrying pouch.

Q: Does the disc turn discolored and gross after uses? I’m skeptical that it’s clear and wish they had black.

submitted by KO - 25 days ago
  • A: Hi KO, thanks for your question! The Flex Reusable Disc has no added colorants, so it may show stains on the outside of the disc. This is completely normal and nothing to worry about

Q: Is it safe to use with an iud?

submitted by J - 30 days ago
  • A: Hi J, tons of Flex Disc users have IUDs and discs are IUD friendly! We recommend chatting with your doc if you have any concerns before wearing internally worn products as they'll have a better idea of how your IUD is positioned with your unique anatomy in order to give a recommendation. 🙂 Email us at help@flexfits.com or text 800-931-0882 for more support!

Q: Is the disc self emptying?

submitted by Female - 5 months ago
  • A: Great question! When you actively & intentionally bear down on your pelvic floor muscles (like you do when you poo), your disc will slightly shift forward enough to empty out into the toilet. Then, when you're all done, just use a clean finger or do some kegels to pop the disc back into place behind your pubic bone. You should be good to go for the rest of your 12-hour wear. Easy peasy!

Q: what are the different ways the disc can be washed? is there things i should avoid when cleaning it?

submitted by screen name - 9 months ago
  • A: Hi there, thank you for the great question! The Reusable Disc should be washed every 12 hours with warm water and a mild oil-and-fragrance-free-soap (we love our Foaming Cleanser!). Do not use vinegar, tea tree oil, scented soap, castile/peppermint soap, oil-based soap, rubbing alcohol, antibacterial soap, hand sanitizer, dish soap, hydrogen peroxide, bleach or harsh chemicals as these may damage the silicone and cause irritation. If irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult your physician. Reach out to us with any other questions at hello@flexfits.com or text us at 800-931-0882

Q: Do you boil it to sanitize just like a menstrual cup?

submitted by Victoria - 9 months ago

Honest Review of the Flex Disc: A Great Idea with a Learning Curve

3 out of 5 stars
Priyanna P. - 7 days ago
originally posted on flexfits.com
I decided to purchase the Flex Disc because the idea of not having to constantly buy tampons was really appealing—especially since I go through them quickly due to a heavy flow. I also love the sustainability aspect and the reduced waste. That said, here’s my honest and comprehensive review after giving it a real shot:Cons:•Insertion is tricky.Even though the commercial says it folds down to the size of a tampon, I’ve had a hard time keeping it pinched while inserting. It often pops open too early, which can be frustrating. It usually takes me several tries to get it in right. I ended up buying a disc applicator to help with this, which was a little annoying—an extra product to make another product usable—but I’m hopeful it’ll make things easier.•Sealing & leaks. This might be user error, anatomy differences, or a product flaw—but I rarely get a perfect seal. Sometimes I go to the bathroom and check with toilet paper and there’s no leakage, but most times there is a bit of blood. I’ve even felt leaks after sneezing, coughing, laughing, or doing squats. I try to tighten my pelvic muscles to help, but it’s not always practical or effective. These issues make it hard to imagine using it confidently for mess-free period sex. When I do check the positioning after a leak, it seems like it’s in correctly, so I’m hoping the applicator helps improve this.•It’s noticeable.Unlike tampons—which I can usually forget are there—I’m very aware of the Flex Disc once it’s in. It doesn’t hurt, but it never feels totally “out of sight, out of mind” for me.Pros:•Money saver.I love not having to constantly restock tampons. Though I still wear a liner for peace of mind with potential leaks, I’ve definitely saved money overall.•The self-emptying feature is awesome. When the seal is working properly, the ability to empty it without taking it out is super convenient.•Hygienic material.I really appreciate that it’s made of medical-grade silicone—feels cleaner and more durable than other options.⸻I really wanted to be 100% happy with this product. I’m going to keep using it and see if the applicator helps make things easier. Overall, I like the idea behind the Flex Disc, and I love the sustainability and savings, but there’s definitely a learning curve and room for improvement in terms of ease and reliability. Hope this review helps someone else navigating the same experience!

I love this disc; it's my favorite of all I've tried. I used to use cups, but post-baby, they don't fit as well. Discs are the perfect solution! It lasts all day and self empties when I use the bathroom. My only issue with this one is the color: sort of opaque white. It stains and looks pretty grimy even with daily cleaning and monthly boiling.

Feel like nothing inside me

I used period cups for a long time, the kind looks like a reverse bell with a tip to pull out. The tip gave me an uncomfortable feeling that made me want to use it for just two heavy days. I bought the Flex disc with a skeptical thought, that’s somehow I might feel the thing a bit. But I was wrong, completely free from feeling anything inside. Im so happy with my purchase and had to buy them for my sisters too.

Never Going Back to Tampons or Cups!

Holy moly, this thing is MAGIC. I've tried cups before and could never get them to work properly and I'm tired of paying for tampons. The fact that Flex doesn't rely on suction was a big selling point for me. I'm currently using it for the first time and I'm just amazed. The self-empty actually works, I haven't had any leaks, and it's so easy to put in and take out. I highly recommend it!

The flex disc was easy to insert and caught everything. I was also able to figure out how to make it empty while inside. However, I could not get it out. I spent all day trying to remove it, watching videos, reading posts and reviews. I ended up at the ER to have it taken out and the doctor told me that my physiology was not great for a cup. I would have never been able to get it out myself. So if you are new to a cup, use one with a built in handle or talk to your OB/dr first. I’d even have them insert one and help you remove it to make sure you can do it yourself.

I LOVE the disc. Recently made the switch to reusable and this version for me is even better. The rim is more flexible so I find it doesn’t shift as much and I have less leaks. I have a heavy flow so I still have to make sure I use the restroom to empty in time. Better than anything I’ve ever used to try to manage my period. Basically created a period bladder, you still gotta use the bathroom when you feel it but that’s no different than any other movement 😉. Tip, if you’re not removing in the shower, use one exam glove for removal, then just peel the glove over the disc and your hands are mess free.

I used the flex cup for several years and thought switching from tampons to a cup was lifechanging. But after trying the flex disc, I'm never going back to anything else. I don't feel it at all, it works even better than a cup, and has saved me so much money and waste from no longer needing to keep getting tampons. My only "complaint" would be that I wish they offered the disc in black like the flex cup because it stains very quickly. But that's just a personal preference and I can't recommend this product highly enough.

This period disc is WAY BETTER than a cup. Literally you just fold it like in the picture and put it in like a tampon. Once it's far enough you can tuck the rim behind the pelvic bone and you're good to go! THEN the coolest part of all, if your flow is heavy enough, it empties without you needing to take it out! You just kinda bare down/push like you're trying to do a BM. It's also way easier to take out! You just bare down again and you can pull it out just like that since there's no suction. And you can barely feel it inside

I have been using for about six cycles now, and somehow I have way less cramping and pain. I also have less leaking than I do with tampons (with this only a little on my very heaviest day). Super easy and convenient to use. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. I have the cleanser for the disc and I also like that. Between the two, that’s all I need now!

"Self emptying" is actually a major design flaw

Leaks constantly. I’ve given it months to see if maybe I’m doing something wrong, but the “self emptying” feature seems a lot more like a design flaw. If you simply move the wrong way it will lose its seal and suddenly you’re free bleeding into your pants. Super annoying and a waste of money.

I used to wear tampons, but they became uncomfortable and toxic either ingredients. Then I switched to a menstrual cup and I thought it was good but my first 24 hours were painful and sore. I’ve tried the flex disposable discs but they were too hard and never comfortable. I would actually be sore after removing it. The new reusable disc is AMAZING! It’s soft, I can’t feel it, easy to insert and remove, and not painful. The only downside is that it is more messy than a cup. But if you are near a sink it’s not a problem.

i was so excited to try something less wasteful than tampons and easy to use. i had seen a lot of good reviews using it for period sex and for part of it it was okay but when we were done having sex and time to take it out it was so far up there!! it was like a suction and i spent 10 minutes trying to pull it out of me. it was extremely stressful and it happened when we tried again as well! it also would leak when i would sit in one of my comfy positions: legs curled up to my chest. not great at all

What a freaking time to be alive, this thing is life changing! I have been on the menstrual cup train for 12 years now and tell all my friends they need to switch over (and converted 99% of them). I never thought I would like the disc more than the cup. I only wish I tried it sooner! Some things I was worried about:- It would be hard to get in and out - Nope! It's actually EASIER to get in and out than the cup since there's no turning anything for suction. You just bear down and it shoots up to the front so you can easily grab it.- Period sex wouldn't actually work - My husband didn't notice anything at all and there was no mess whatsoever! It might have been a different story if it was super full, not sure. I emptied it probably 2 or 3 hours before sex and have a normal flow.- The self emptying either wouldn't work or would work at times I didn't want it to empty - Not a problem at all! Emptying it by bearing down over the toilet is so simple and you really have to be intentional about it, so I can't imagine accidentally emptying it when I'm not in a bathroom! This might be the best part about this thing. The only thing I'm sad about is WHY IS IT CLEAR?! The best thing this company ever did was make the cup black silicone, why not the disc too?! Anyone who has used clear silicone menstrual cups knows it's nearly impossible to keep it clear long term. Please make this disc in black and I will 100% buy!

Reusable Flex Disc

So far I'm loving the reusable flex disc! I recently made the switch from tampons to discs - trying out the disposable ones first. Once I realized how great they are, I went for the purchase of a reusable one. I would say the disposable ones might be slightly easier to hook onto for removal, but not a huge difference between the two. And I love the idea that I'm no longer throwing anything away. Very similar feel between the disposable and reusable. Overall great product!
