Book Synopsis

Raina Telgemeier's #1 New York Times bestselling, Eisner Award-winning graphic memoir based on her childhood!

Raina just wants to be a normal sixth grader. But one night after Girl Scouts she trips and falls, severely injuring her two front teeth. What follows is a long and frustrating journey with on-again, off-again braces, surgery, embarrassing headgear, and even a retainer with fake teeth attached. And on top of all that, there's still more to deal with: a major earthquake, boy confusion, and friends who turn out to be not so friendly.

At first I’m not sure about this too much teen memories for me but my daughter (8yr) wanted to read this so I did it with her and it was interesting about this girls life and things she figure out along the way with or without her family’s help. Overall a good interesting colorful comic book. Some parental guidance is good but not required. My daughter read it at school library and I got it when there’s good discount. It’s a set of 5 comic so far but adding to my daughters comic collection!
