Review Quotes

Applause to Julia Cool for crating an educational story for students on how to handle a lockdown, evacuation or a dangerous person on campus. The genius here is how she turned a familiar story into a "training" to enhance the Alice Drill concepts which makes a scary topic less scary. Our students and communities do need to be prepared and this book is a great start to educating and discussing these sensitive topics. I recommend this book as a read aloud and a educational tool to start the school year.

After going through the official ALiCE training, I cannot recommend this book enough. It helps children to understand why we need to be proactive and prepared in case the worst ever could happen. I hate having to think about these drills and preparation with my kindergarten students, but this book helps explain it to them on their level without being scary. If your school is moving towards ALiCE strategies (which I totally recommend) then this is the book for you!

Great book! Bought one for every elementary teacher amd included it as part of our drill preparation.
