Secret Past

I hate to see a series end but the good thing about this one is that it was captivating all the way through. I enjoyed getting to know each of the friends and looked forward to each of the stories as they unfolded. Book four centers on Raina Price who is a flight paramedic. Like the others before her she has a past that intertwines with her friends. Danger follows her but so far she and her secret have been able to stay a step ahead. That is until this time. Raina meets Vincent Covelli, a US Marshal, at one of the most frightening times of her life. He has nothing to do with her case but takes it upon himself to become her protector. The attraction between the two is palpable. I don't think I have a favorite in this series because they all were so good. But this last book was thrilling to read. The storyline was fast and intense. The romance was swoon worthy. What more could you ask for? Lynette Eason has delivered another amazing series. The one consolation about this being the last book of the series is a new series is surely in the works. Count me in on whatever it is. I highly recommend Countdown if you enjoy Romantic Suspense. Technically there are enough details filled in that you can read this book as a stand alone. But why would you? Treat yourself and read the whole series!

Countdown is a fantastic conclusion to the Extreme Measures series by Lynette Eason. It can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the whole series. I would be hard-pressed to say which book of the series is my favorite, but this one might be close. I was more than ready to get Raina's full story. You knew it had to be intense because of her hiding and how sparse the details have been up to this point. I enjoyed Raina's character growth and learning her story. While it is not pretty, she learned from her mistakes and became a strong woman determined to help others. At times, that same determination got on my nerves because she was putting herself in dangerous situations. I liked Vince as well. I love stories that have US Marshall's. I find them fascinating. Vince is so patient and caring with Raina, he knows she is hiding things, but he doesn't force her to tell him or try to take over. He lets her be strong but is there if she needs him. The suspense is riveting and will keep you glued to the pages. I figured some things out, but the pace was so fast it did not spoil my enjoyment of the story. Thank you to Revell for the opportunity to read this book. I was not required to provide a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The Extreme Measures Series has been an amazing one! After reading the previous books, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one! Eason tied everything up perfectly. Raina has always been a bit of a mystery and I was so excited to get to know her more. Building a new life wouldn’t have been easy, especially when you have to leave everyone who loves you behind. Raina’s lifeline has been her friends from juvie. She is used to living her life on edge and always scared that her stalker might have found her, but this time it seems like she might be right. It will take more than her strength and knowledge to survive, luckily she has Vince who just so happens to protect people for a living. Can they escape long enough to catch her stalker? Or will Raina be forced to start over somewhere new again? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Romantic Suspense. Eason is a master at the edge of your seat suspense, and I couldn’t get enough. I can’t wait to see what she does next! I received a complimentary copy of the book from the Revell publishing and was in no way forced to post a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I had the pleasure of reading the first three books from Lynette Eason’s Extreme Measures series. I was happy to have the chance to read book four, Countdown. It is by far my favorite of this series. I thought it was a fabulous read. It is one of those books that grabs my attention right from the start and lasts until the very last page has been read. It is full of twists, turns, danger, action, suspense, and adventure. I am giving Countdown a very well deserved five plus stars. I believe fans of clean romantic suspense will definitely want to read it. As always, I will be looking for more books by Lynette Eason to release in the near future. I received a paperback copy of Lynette Eason’s Countdown from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

I always look forward to reading new books by Lynette Eason. In the Extreme Measures series, we met a contingent of characters whose lives are interwoven in their daily activities as well as in that of solving crime and saving lives. In Countdown the story of Raina gets told and it wraps up the series. Raina has had a complicated and tainted life. She currently is living a fast paced life working as an Advanced EMS team member. Her sordid past involves a horrific life experience with a "love" who beat her senseless and left her to die. The result was that she had to develop new identities in an effort to escape the clutches of this past partner who sought to kill her. As the story develops, it becomes evident that there is more than one villain stirring the pot and posing dangerous situations. Bullets fly. Homes are broken into. Wounds inflicted. Plunges into icy lakes. Challenges on snow covered mountains. Kidnapping. Fear. And then the extent of criminal activity is beyond comprehension of normal people as more identities of those involved become apparent. An intriguing story that will keep the reader on edge wondering who and what next. The story held a personal level of interest for me as it is set in the beginning in my beloved North Carolina in the mountains around Asheville. A beautiful area and perfect for this story to open with a helicopter rescue of injured people on the side of a beautiful mountain. I received a complimentary copy to facilitate a review. Opinions are mine, alone and are freely given.

I have really enjoyed this series and this finale gives it the conclusion it deserves. The mysteries surrounding Raina’s past were intriguing and kept me guessing along with Vince. He was a great for Raina and it was fun watching their relationship develop. This is a quick and easy story that I devoured on a Friday night and I enjoyed every minute of it. Great read. I received a copy of this book from the publisher and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

If I could give Countdown more than 5 stars, I would! This is book 4, the final book in the Extreme Measures series. From beginning to end, my attention was captured by the storyline. Raina Price, a flight paramedic, and US Marshal Vincent Covelli team up to stop a dangerous stalker from Raina’s past. This book is seriously unputdownable! The suspense, action and romance are perfectly balanced. The faith element is seamlessly included in the story and adds more depth to the overall storyline. I highly recommend Countdown. My thanks to the publisher/author for an advanced reader copy of this book. There were no requirements for a good review. The opinions stated here are mine.

Countdown is a “can’t put it down” book. From the first page, the reader is immediately drawn into the story. Raina and Vince, the two main characters, have their secrets, but they also have a shared purpose in this book and they must work together for the greater good. This is the perfect ending to the Extreme Measures series by Lynette Eason. You won’t want to miss this one!

Countdown, Extreme Measures book 4, by Lynette Eason is filled with action from the very beginning and continues through the whole book. This is a wonderfully written story filled with suspense, mystery and a growing relationship. I enjoyed the characters of Raina and Vince. They are caring people who put others’ safety before their own. I felt for Raina as she changes her name and moves around to keep herself and others connected to her safe. Even though this is part of a series, it also makes a great stand alone story. I enjoyed catching up with characters from the previous books and seeing how faith pla ys a part in the story. This book captured my attention at the very beginning and held it to the very end, wishing there was more. I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of the book as part of the launch team. This is my honest review.

“I think that’s where faith comes in. We just have to trust that God is still in control even when it looks like he isn’t and we don’t understand why he does or doesn’t do something.” She squeezed his fingers. “Easier said than done.”“Yep.” You'll want to read this one with the lights on. Countdown is an intense suspense novel filled with twists, turns and elusive suspects that pop up like whac-a-moles. I really loved Raina's character; she was kind, thoughtful and selfless in everything she did. She made a great flight paramedic and an even better friend. U.S. Marshal Vincent (Vince) Corelli was a brilliant supporting character and protector to Raina and her medical team. His job sounded both seriously dangerous and amazing! Honestly, this is my new favorite book of Lynette's with Crossfire being a close second! Literally every time she comes out with a new book, I wonder how she'll top it, but she still does with every new release!I hate to see this series end, but can't wait to see what other ideas she has up her sleeve lol! I received a complimentary e-book from the publisher through Netgalley to review. I also received a complimentary paperback from the publisher as part of the author's launch team. I was not required to write a positive review, and the thoughts above are my own.

Another riveting book in the Extreme Measures Series. This final book is about Raina, the flight paramedic and US Marshal Vincent Covelli. I loved the non-stop action and supreme intensity of the scenes. The plot kept me guessing and I enjoyed the test to see if I could figure out what was coming next and who was behind all the evil. A book that keeps my attention well enough to keep me from putting it down before it's done is what I long. This one receives two thumbs as I finished it the day I received it. Highly recommend this book and the series it is part of. Great reads. Disclaimer: I received this book from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group, with no expectations in return. The opinions and comments above are my own.

Exciting Conclusion to the Extreme Measures Series

Countdown concludes Lynette Eason's Extreme Measures series, and it concludes with a bang! This story pulls together all the books of the series by combining elements from each one, so don't plan to do anything else until you've turned the last page. Raina's backstory is both fascinating and realistic. The idea that she's been stalked so completely by someone totally unidentifiable is unique, and Vincent can't protect her when he can't see the threat coming. The stakes are as high as they come in this novel. If you like high suspense, high drama stories, Countdown is the book for you! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All opinions are my own.

It was a pleasure once again joining the emergency medical team in Asheville, North Carolina and their law enforcement friends in Eason's fourth book in her Extreme Measures series. In this book we learn more of Raina's story and observe her budding relationship with US Marshal Vincent Covelli as they repeatedly place themselves in danger in order to protect a thirteen year old, future Olympian from a man he has never met, his father. Emotions run high in this story that deals with the topic of domestic violence. As usual Eason shines a spotlight on a social issue of concern while providing romantic suspense fans a wonderful reading experience. This book in particular feels authentic, like a story one might see on the evening news. Fortunately, she provides plenty of positive moments to leave the reader feeling encouraged. I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of Countdown from Revell via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

I received this book as an ARC with no expectation of a positive review. Wow! I was blown away by this book. Ms. Eason is a fabulous romantic suspense author. She builds the story up slowly giving you pieces of the puzzle along with action and adventure. Raina Price, a flight paramedic, works hard to build not allow thers to get close to her. She is running and hiding to save her life. She met Vince through one of her old friends who she works with. Will she allow Vince who is a US Marshall in? Will she allow him to help her when she begins to be attacked? This is an edge of your seat adventure as well as romantic suspense.

Heart-Pounding Suspense and Romance, Too

This is a heart-pounding romantic suspense with lovable characters who jumped off the page and into my imagination. Raina has been on the run for most of her life but decides to take a stand against her aggressor when he threatens those near and dear to her. The new man in her life, Vince, is suffering from some past trauma himself but he is determined to keep Raina safe. The adventures of these two are harrowing and cleverly written, with some deliberate misdirection that kept me on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed the intrigue, the multiple layers and how tightly the plot was written. With lots of action and plenty of characters, this intense and complex book had me captivated to the very satisfying conclusion. This is the perfect book to end this outstanding series! The characters from the previous books have cameo appearances while Raina is featured in this one. All books can be read as a standalone, but I am thrilled to have read and enjoyed each of them. The author explores with heart the effect of trauma on a person and her treatment of the Raina’s terrifying past gives a great deal of depth and authenticity to the story. With a fast pace and continually crackling with tension, this is a must read for fans of compelling romantic suspense. Disclaimer Disclosure of Material Connection: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author as part of her launch team and an e-copy from Revell as part of the Revell Reads Blogger Program. The final book in the Extreme Measure series brings us to Raina Price, a flight EMT who has been hiding from her past. Vince Covelli, a US Marshal, and friend of Raina's takes on the roll of protection when she is targeted by a possible serial killer from her past. Through plot twists and turns and edge of your seat action, Raina and Vince are literally on a run for their lives while trying to bring the person trying to kill Raina to justice. Friendship, trust and relying on God are some of the main themes of this book. A fitting conclusion to a great series.

“Flight paramedic Raina Price’s past has marched back into her present–and it wants to kill her,” the back jacket states in Lynette Eason’s novel, Countdown. ~ What ~ The fourth book in the Extreme Measures series, this three-hundred-and-three-page advanced reader copy targets those who enjoy crime suspense with Christian undertones and light romance. Containing no profanity, the topics of physical abuse, torture, and murder may not be appropriate for immature readers. The book ends with acknowledgments, a teaser of the writer’s next book, the author’s biography, and advertisements for other Revell books. In this story set in Asheville, North Carolina, flight paramedic Raina has kept her past secret from her best friends, but when she recognizes someone from fourteen years ago, she not only has to tell them her tragic tale but also involve Vince, a U.S. marshal, who is determined to keep her safe. As they search for a serial killer, the countdown is on to stop one more death. ~ Why ~ This romantic suspense keeps the reader wanting to protect the protagonist as she confronts her past mistakes. The family dynamics of the killer are well-written while being believable. I appreciate Vince trusting and relying on God for support at every turn. The romance is light and innocuous. ~ Why Not ~ Those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ may not like the prayers to God or calling on His name for protection. Others may not care for a story about a serial killer. Some may not like the life choices Raina made and the consequences they produced. ~ Wish ~ I found the ending a bit confusing. I wish all pronouns of God were capitalized for reverence. ~ Want ~ Whether you have read other books in the series or not, this stand-alone story will keep you interested trying to figure out how to deal with one’s past when a killer is involved. Thanks to Revell and Interviews & Reviews for this complimentary book. I am under no obligation to give a positive review.

In Countdown, Eason delivers action and suspense at every turn. Intrigue is woven into romantic suspense to keep the story moving at an enjoyably fast pace. With characters written carefully to evoke love or hate in turn as appropriate, the multifaceted plot deals subversion on several levels to keep the reader guessing until the satisfying conclusion. If you’re looking for a book you can savor chapter by chapter or one you’ll devour in one sitting, Countdown has your number. Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me a copy to read and review. All opinions expressed here are my own and are completely genuine.

Lynette Eason has done it again!!! Another action packed and full of suspense book!! Although, it is the fourth book in the Extreme Measures series, it can be read as a stand alone. Raina is a strong independent woman, yet she realizes that she does need to let people in to help and share her burden. I love the way Vince and her interact and are there for one another as they work to protect an innocent person. I love catching up with Penny, Julianna and Grace and hate to see this series close. I was given an advance reader copy by the publisher and was not obligated to write this review.
