    Purchased these after winter because I was always looking for a thinner long underwear to wear under pants that didn’t feel so bulky. They are exactly what I wanted. The waistband is a bit thick, but won’t worry about them falling down.

    I bought these in November 2024, they fit true to size however the waistband is super wide elastic that tends to fold over as you wear it creating what feels like your middle being cut off. The waistband is high if you have a long torso. I like the softness however they snag easily because they are pure silk and when wearing with my pants, they ride up my calf as I am getting dressed. They wash up great and I line dry them.

    These silk bottoms are to replace my worn out old bottoms. Soft fabric. Washes well. Nice light coverage. Waistband is wider than I am used to, so far so good. Does not roll or move out of place. Hardly know you have them on.

    Wear-Altering Shrinkage When Laundered

    The fabric is heavenly, and the pink color is yummy. Unfortunately when I washed them in cold water, delicate cycle, in a net bag, and line dried them they shrunk about 6 inches. The once ankle length trousers now reach my lower calf. This is really annoying because I can no longer anchor the hem by tucking it into my sock, and the leg rides up to my knee when I put my trousers on. They are not suited for purpose, and I really wish that I could return them. I consider this item defective due to the large amount of shrinkage.

    I went to a very cold football game last night (go Chiefs) and wore the LE silk leggings I bought MANY YEARS ago under a pair of medium weight jeans. I was also wearing two pairs of gloves (cashmere with a synthetic windproof glove on top), a wool base layer on top with a heavyweight flannel tunic and heavy coat. My legs were the only part of me that was warm while also being least restrictive. After that, I came on here to buy a new silk top (I can't find the one I bought with the leggings years ago) and figured I should leave this review. I know I have LE silk glove liners somewhere and really wish I had tracked those down before the game. Silk really is the best thing to have against your skin (even better than wool) and last night was a good reminder of that for me

    I agree with another reviewer who said the waist band is too large and the legs ride up (not badly but still). I, too, have tried since Winter Silks went out of business to find silk long underwear that is light but warm. These come close.

    I bought this a few months ago in a 10 to 12 which was too small at the waist for me so I bought a larger one and it is exactly the same size. It took 3 weeks for the parcel to arrive and I am really fed up, it has taken so long and so many phone calls

    Awful. No proper cuffs as advertised or in earlier versions (only simple hem) so leg bottoms ride up under trousers & stay uncomfortably above calfs. Uncomfortable waistband rolls over. Please revert to earlier brilliant silk long john underwear design which I loved & have been buying for decades. Lands End used to have quality fabrics & design. This has been diminishing with each recent year. In LandsEnd U.K., there are no more robust double lined activewear swimsuits available for serious exercise (they used to be brilliant) and no more children’s clothes. Please revert back to good quality, or your customers will leave.

    I have bought this pair of Long Johns for really cold weather and have only worn them once, and found them to be quite comfy. They fitted round the waist but the legs were a bit too big but l put that down to my shape as my legs are extremely skinny. I do recommend these for high quality and also comfort.

    These are a good baselayer for light hiking pants in 40 F weather with wind. However, for the price, the manufacturing flaw is that one leg is shorter than the other. I didn't realize this until I was walking, and the area above my sock was cold on one leg. Disappointing for the price.
