Really cool! I think it illuminates the room perfectly, and it is at least ideal for an adult’s room because it is dim enough that it won’t irritate you and make it hard to sleep. You should be able to see what you are doing if you get up at night, but it’s hard to say if it’s too dim for a kid’s room; might depend how afraid of the dark they are or the size of the room.

Bought it as a stocking stuffer this Christmas. Plugged it into the wall, and it never turned on. The room was completely dark, so that wasn't the issue. Waste of money.

I use this in the hall way leading from my bedroom toward my children’s bedroom. It’s bright, but not too overwhelming that it’s blinding should the kids wake up and need to come to my room in the middle of the night. Please note: It shifts between colors every couple of seconds. It doesn’t move. There aren’t different patterns or stars as part of this product. You can’t lock in a certain color. Wish I could though. It automatically comes on when the light drops below a certain pre-determined threshold.

This doesn’t light up anything but right in front of the light and it barely does that. It doesn’t move around so you can adjust to the ceiling. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY
