Despite the negative reviews, we decided to give this toy a chance, hoping we wouldn’t experience the same issues. The most common complaint I saw was about battery usage, so to be extra cautious, I bought brand-new batteries instead of using the ones I had at home. Right out of the box, there was a troubleshooting guide included, which in hindsight should have been a red flag. After inserting the batteries, the toy didn’t turn on at all. We tried removing and reinserting them multiple times, and eventually, it powered on—but only played the startup sound with no images appearing. After about 30 minutes of troubleshooting, it finally displayed one image... and then nothing else. It was a huge letdown, especially for our child, who had been so excited to play with it. I genuinely don’t understand how this toy made it to market in such poor condition. Will be returning

Received this as a gift for my son and does not work at all. Bought new batteries but no luck. So upsetting.

I bought this as a gift for a nine year old and he loves playing it with his dad!

The first one I received the Blue side didn’t work. Return it and got a new one. Now neither guns work. Will return for money back.

At first, the game is finicky to figure out; however, thankful for the review that said to push the blaster cord in hard and it would come on! It sure did! Then, I couldn’t figure out how to get it going once it was on… the key is to pull the blaster hammer back and bam! Worked like a dream! If the guns aren’t lit up, they won’t work meaning each time their light goes out you have to pull the blaster hammer back to activate it again. My almost 4 year old enjoyed the basic first level; beyond that was a little difficult. My 6 year old had an easier time with the first and second levels and we play for about an hour. No need to return!

Don’t get me wrong this game is awesome and was fun for the first 2 hrs my kids and I played it then it broke and wouldn’t work anymore so basically it lasted two hrs that’s it!

Absolutely terrible. It worked for 2 different play sessions totalling maybe 15 minutes and now won't turn on. Tried new batteries and giving it a few days and coming back to it. It's still useless!!! Dont throw out the box if you get it so you can make a return.

Received as a gift and it didn’t work right out of the box. Even tried switching to new batteries. Kids were very disappointed. Seems many others have experienced the same defect.

Does not work longer than a second. Super disappointing. Hard to set up. Just when you think you do, it doesn’t do anything. -_- bought brand new batteries for this so they weren’t the problem

Like all of the other reviewers, we too could not get this to work at first. We finally realized the guns were not plugged in all of the way. Push them down harder and the game will start working. No need to return! Works great now.

My boys love this thing! It’s a projector game. At first it was difficult to start so I went back to read the instructions a second time. After putting the batteries and if it doesn’t turn on, take them out then click the power button and then put them on again. Second, if it makes a loud noise when you put the power button on, it’s because the game was in backwards. Third, in order to get the game to start you have to load from the gun to get them to turn on. My 6 year old figured this out. Lol. This took a total of 10 minutes to figure out and set up. And yes, it works best in a completely dark room.

I ordered two of these for both of my older boys for Christmas. I didn't read the reviews until after we unboxed the first one and it doesn't work. Unit powered on one time long enough for us to focus the targets, but then shut off and would not power back on despite changing out the batteries three times. From glancing at other reviews, most everyone has had the same experience. I'm not sure if the second unit works or not as my oldest has not opened it yet. We may try a different brand of battery just to see what happens, but a battery is a battery, and brands shouldn't matter. Either way, will likely be returning both of these as it's too much of a pain to get it to work.

Bought this as a Christmas gift. It does not work. Read the reviews after the issue and realized it’s a hit or miss as many people reported faulty devices.

Xmas gift for my two boys- a bit frustrating for the following reasons and one blaster did not work so they cannot play together 1. blasters have assigned spots (red left and right blue); can function with only one blaster however will not turn on if in wrong slot 2. directions are decent and sufficient to calibrate/change settings although accuracy pretty terrible even once calibrate with faster speeds; some hits do not register even with functional blaster (red); above level 3 targets move too quick/30% chance shots register (maybe a lag with LED detection). Level 4/5 impossible and level 1-2 works with the functional blaster; trouble shooting directions are a bit lacking 3. one blaster (blue) didn't work regardless of force restart (5 seconds with battery out holding down power); reconnecting everything; adjusted adapter in different positions (e.g. aux jack) and blaster blue turned on however did not register any shots which means co-op/head to head is pointless. Though it was a calibration issues - nope even on calibration it cannot register any shots/system auto shuts off after 2 minutes Really neat concept for those who recall duck hunt however a bit disappointed in product considering price range. Would give a 2-2.5 stars if blasters both worked. Surprised to find something like this at Target versus online retailers (e.g. who stocks gimmicky products). Hopefully Target customer service can help resolve this matter.

Got this for my son as a Christmas present despite all the bad reviews and I should have known better. My son was super excited to get this as a gift we put brand new alkaline batteries in the machine for it to just do nothing.. the look on his face was pure disappointment get your kids something else don't risk it and listen to all these awful reviews

My Kids love it, and we have had it for a couple years now.

I bought this for my 6 yr old for his bday. We got home to set it up on his birthday we put brand new batteries in and it wouldn’t turn on . I wasted over an hour switching batteries in & out it finally turned on with dollar store batteries and just made a noise and did nothing. It wont project anything. Doesn’t work at all. Now we wasted part of his birthday and have to return. Not going to try to exchange it for a new one after reading the similar reviews.

I received the toy I ordered from Target today and it was a fast delivery. The item was well packaged and no damage was noted on the item. This was a great product at a great price and fast delivery.

Make sure you get alkaline batteries, toy will not work for any other kind of batteries. I tried Energizer batteries n was unsuccessful! It can be a little tricky to get the device to turn on so parent assistance is a must. The thing I dislike most about this gaming system is how loud the toy is with no volume button. I gave it 3 stars because regardless of my complaints, my kids really enjoy it n have fun playing with it. Once it’s set up the game is easy enough for a 3yr old to follow along and enjoy.

Stopped working after a few uses. The machine would make noise but would not work.
