About the Book
One of the tensions in contemporary evangelicalism involves an unease over what it means for us to proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord and King. This latest work by R. Albert Mohler, Jr. helps Christians remain grounded in Christ, being thoroughly informed by his prophetic, priestly, and kingly offices.Book Synopsis
In this book, theologian R. Albert Mohler Jr. delves into the historical significance of the offices of prophet, priest, and king. He traces their origins in the Old Testament to their ultimate fulfillment in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Mohler presents a compelling argument: the three offices should not be compartmentalized. They are interconnected and essential for Christian faithfulness in the home, the church, and society. When Jesus Christ returns, the whole world will bow to him as Lord--Prophet, Priest, and King.About the Author
R. Albert Mohler, Jr. is the president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is an esteemed authority on contemporary issues and has been recognized by such influential publications as Time and Christianity Today as leader among American evangelicals. In addition to his presidential duties, he is a professor of Christian theology and hosts two programs: The Briefing, a daily analysis of news and events from a Christian worldview and Thinking in Public a series of conversations with the day's leading thinkers. He is also the editor of WORLD Opinions and has authored numerous books, his most recent being The Conviction to Lead, Revised and Updated Edition: 25 Principles for Leadership That Matters; Tell Me the Stories of Jesus: The Explosive Power of Jesus' Parables; The Gathering Storm: Secularism, Culture, and the Church; The Apostles Creed: Discovering Authentic Christianity in an Age of Counterfeit, The Prayer That Turns the World Upside Down, and a two-volume commentary on the book of Acts. He served as the general editor of the Grace and Truth Study Bible. He also writes a popular blog and a regular commentary on moral, cultural, and theological issues. He loves to celebrate Christmas with his wife, Mary, his son Christopher, and his daughter Katie and son in law Riley, along with their three kids: Benjamin, Henry, and Margaret.Dimensions (Overall): 8.6 Inches (H) x 5.5 Inches (W) x 1.0 Inches (D)
