Prym Big Sully

Well made and sturdy, keeps your yarn clean, and free from tangles as you work on your projects. The storage is also revolutionary in keeping up with your easy to lose/ misplaced smaller knitting tools.

So handy for colorwork; keeps balls organized and from rolling all over. I now have two. Still not sure how the ruler is suppose to fit in the slot of the yarn tray.

I am very much enjoying the Big Sully Yarn Holder. It’s well constructed with usable features. It’s keeping my yarn contained, and clean.

Love this! I’ve had the small Yarn It for years and always hoped that they would make the Big Sully. It’s perfect for large skeins and chunky yarn. Always love to keep things in the bottom rubber foot. The hinge is nice on the big one vs the twist off of the small one does. Protects yarn from dog hair and small hands.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 1) - If you start a project and are in the middle of the skein of yarn, you can’t use the product until you start a new skein. 2) It can only be used with the larger skeins of yarn. 3) Poor/limited instructions (Not sure of the purpose of the divided inner bowl. 4) promotes using the yarn from the outside in vs. the much easier method of the inside out.

Thanks to the 2 ball tray, my tangling days are over. The removable rubber base has a small compartment where I store my small things and I love that there’s a needle & hook docking station to keep them in order. It also includes a swatch ruler which has become very useful and a handle to carry when you are on the go. It has many benefits.

Holds 2-4 skeins of yarn, can use the yarn cakes, balls or cones. It keeps things neat and organized. Does not knot up. Easily pack your needles and/or crochet hooks and take with you in your road trips and vacations. Love that it has the swatch ruler right in the case.

It makes it easy to crochet or knit without the worry about getting your yarn tangled. The Big Sully comes with a stand that separates and can hold stitch markers or sewing needles. The case of Big Sully holds your yarn or crochet thread as well as holes in the top for your crochet hooks or knitting needles. I love this Big Sully and highly recommend it to all those who crochet and/or knit!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Prym Big Sully Yarn Bowl Holder because I am an avid knitter, crafting almost everyday. I am engrossed in the hobby, and most any gift I give is something I’ve crafted. Having used this for about a month I can say that, while there are a few things I don’t love, this has greatly helped in streamlining my process, and I do, ultimately, recommend. Before the Prym Big Sully, I kept my yarn in a large bowl, which would sit on the arm of my chair, or the floor at my feet. It was constantly toppled, vomiting my yarn onto the floor. Too, because it was open sided, things would fall into the bowl to be lost, and my dog would tote it away in its curious mouth. No more. What I love about the Big Sully is that it can close, keeping curious fingers and paws out, while still allowing me to draw yarn through the numerous holes at the top. The Big Sully is far more stable and stationary than was my old bowl, and it looks quite cool. Everything looked a bit messy before Big Sully entered my home. Now my yarn and needles are contained, and they look super. In fact, I really like how it looks sitting on my chair or tabletop. While yarn sometimes seems to clutter, inside the Big Sully I can leave it on the table, reminding me to get to work, without needing to put it away when guests arrive. In fact, because it’s always out, it became a bit of a conversation piece for my visitors. I’ll include pics of the various configurations that can be stored inside, which are many. And though this isn’t really a valid criticism (as Prym didn’t make any claims otherwise), it doesn’t hold quite as much yarn as I’d hoped. Large skeins absolutely won’t fit, so if that’s what you work from most, this might not be for you. Again, this isn’t the fault of the Big Sully, it does it’s job perfectly, it’s just that Big Sully isn’t quite “Big” enough. Still, I suppose if it were to be much larger it would be harder to manage and move, and I do like how easy the Big Sully is to work with. That said, I do really like how the Big Sully has improved and streamlined my workflow, and do recommend it.

I was worried that when the yard would get low that they would get tangled inside of the bowl but they didn’t. I like that it has a handle to carry to transport easier to. This product is easy to set up when it’s time to knit. It’s also nice that there’s a place on it to store other knitting accessories, so that everything is all in one place. The yarn bowl is small enough to take on the go, when needed. The non-slip base is a plus, because sometimes you have pull the yarn a little hard.
