I’ve been using Purdy products for years and purchased the 18” Golden Eagle instead of going with another manufacturer. Took out of plastic and understand that there would be some shedding as usual, and performed the usual pre wash to remove it. As I applied the first coat I immediately noticed to my surprise an enormous amount of fuzz throughout the first few strokes. Luckily I caught this and immediately removed the roller and was able to get most of the fuzz off the wall. I will be returning this in hopes to get refunded. Such a huge inconvenience and has delayed the completion of this l particular job.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Purdy Golden Eagle roller cover. I'm sorry to hear about the shedding that you experienced. It's important to prepare the roller covers before painting by running your hands across the roller to remove anything loose. We are concerned that your experience with our product was disappointing and we appreciate your time and feedback. I want to impress upon you that I am very appreciative of your effort to make us aware of the issue that you are having, only a customer truly interested in a continued partnership would do this. If you have any questions, please contact us directly at 1-800-547-0780 or info@cbgbrandreview.com. Sincerely, Reggie Purdy Customer Support

painted 2 rooms for a customer. 4 gallons of latex paint and had to use 2 roller covers. The first one performed like a rag on a roller frame. Held barely any paint after 1 room. Pathetic performance. Slow. Returning them today. I'll stick with the marathon 1/2" covers. Purdy brushes are great though!

Not useful for smooth surfaces

Despite its nearly 100 year history, my first and recent experience with Purdy's Golden Eagle Professional series Paint Rollers hasn't been good. Maybe the reason it is called "Professional" is because the Painting Pro, which many painters are not, can perhaps afford to toss the roller after using it only one time. I found that laying on a high grade latex white paint over a sanded birch veneer door, was not compatible with the Golden Eagle which is highlighted by the company as being for "Smooth to Rough Surfaces." After only a single washing, the roller became nappy, dry and stiff, and was much worse after a second time. The paint did not go on easily and and left an unacceptable raised pattern. This roller is not compatible with a smooth surface. The Purdy Company ought to stick to making brushes for which they are unparalleled.

Terrible roller - leaves fuzz

We used the 3/8" Nap roller from the Professional 3 pack, and it left fuzz all over our walls. We do not recommend anyone use this product. Now we are stuck with fuzzy walls because we do not want to sand and repaint. We bought Purdy based on our experience with paint brushes which are great, but this Purdy roller was terrible. We are terribly disappointed! We used with Sherwin Williams Duration Interior Acrylic Latex paint.

Deposits hair/fuzz onto surface

This roller ruined everything I painted. It deposits hair onto the surface of what you are painting! DO NOT BUY! So now I can live with hair stuck to my cabinets or I can sand it all off and start again. You don’t see all of the fuzz until your first coat dries. I will never purchase another purdy product again.
