Q: Is this made of borosilicate glass or soda-lime glass? From the lower case 'pyrex' I expect soda-lime, but wanted to be sure as I'd much rather have borosilicate.

Q: I've never before seen the requirement that the oven be preheated. Would it break if the oven heated with this dish in it?

This is a classic Pyrex piece, this is prob my 4th or 5th of this same size … great for a small lasagna or enchiladas to pass along to friends. Good price and fits with some of my older plastic Pyrex covers. Two things that annoy me about this one … 1. The bottom is warped, feels like this one was supposed to go to the outlet, but ended up at full price retail instead. So doesn’t sit flat and rocks, which is annoying when you are trying to layer noodles, meat sauce, cheese, etc. … 2. The bottom is foggy within a small part of the glass. Not the whole bottom, just the middle. Looks like the sticky residue from the label, but I’ve endless scrubbed to no avail, so I think again, it’s a flaw within the product itself. Overall, this Pyrex is fine, but wish it didn’t rock when placed on a countertop, stove grate, or other kitchen work surface. Advice: don’t buy curbside, go in store and make sure you end up w one that have a level bottom. Cheers cooks! Ps. Sorry, tried to get a pic of the foggy glass without any reflection to show the issue, but my pics really don’t show the flaw I’ve mentioned. :(
