Instructions could be clearer, but easy to assemble.

bought two and both did not have enough hardware

It’s a great product, looks great. But I received it with the packaging completely torn up, there were chips in boards and some of the boards were bent. I also received the wrong bracket for one of the drawers and so it doesn’t fully close.

This bed is easy to put together. The directions are really simple to follow. I guess we better hold on to them should we ever move! A power driver or drill are not recommended to assemble the bed, but we used one on the most gentle setting and it went together fine without damaging any boards! One of our foundation boards were damaged when shipped. I was hoping the mattress would hide the damage, but it does not. The damage was too close to the edge. This is FIBER BOARD like the core of laminate countertops. NOT MDF like cheap furniture. There was no chemically smell which was nice. However, I did notice very few threaded connections. This concerned me, but also made me wonder if this helps keep the piece from deteriorating over the long run. Well, if those holes ever do get damaged/stripped, there are plenty of available holes in the hardware and surfaces where any capable person can figure out how to repair their bed! That's a why this bed doesn't get 1 star. What's lacking is that fact careful engineering of this bed is all hidden. While I appreciate the solid construction, the bed gets uglier towards the surface. It's great we do not need a box spring, but I am not happy the screw holes on the foundation were not countersunk and the screw caps barely stay on. This will surely ruin the new mattress we bought for my of I don't take action soon! The boards of the foundation also do not line up perfectly. It's like the bed is a "kit" and I should have to go out and clad the thing in some nicer material or even upholster it and not leave it looking like THIS. Also, in spite of our careful placement of screws in the provided pilot holes, the draws are crooked. If my daughter wasn't just so excited about having this bed as displayed in the picture and had some mother/daughter time, I would have returned it when I noticed the box was damaged. I was going to have FedEx load it into my car when I realized it was too big for her room, but she's happy with it. It's solid, I'll give you that!

We love that this bed has the drawers underneath for storage and that we did not have to buy box springs to go with the bed. But when we received the bed, 2 of the bigger platform pieces that the mattress sets on were damaged (see attached pictures) and we had a difficult time putting this bed together because none of the screws were labeled in any way.

A very heavy bed that is made of fiber board so it breaks easily and is unsteady and can't be steadied because the fiber board doesn't allow it... The hardware isn't labeled so you have to figure it out by error which take a very long time when putting it together and some of the peices were finished backwards. So, fiber board is showing instead of the finished side of the bed.. It is just really heavy and super cheap and weak.
