Thank you for submitting your review, Judy ! We deeply apologize for the inconvenience. Many thanks for you feedback on the new child-resistant packaging. We have changed the packaging format to be in compliance with Reese’s Law, which states that all button, coin and hearing aid batteries – and devices powered by those batteries – must be contained in child-resistant packaging that features specific warning copy. The products have been subject to rigorous independent tests, confirming that the new packaging is 100% child resistant*, and zero batteries were accessed by children during CRP testing.* The new plastic dial includes additional staking points for extra security. By that nature it does mean that there will be a difference for users in how to access batteries in the pack, compared to previous packaging. The independent testing also showed that 99% of seniors were able to open the pack for the first time in under one minute*. On the second attempt, this time halved* so we found that consumers become faster with more familiarity and with instruction. We want to support everyone through the transition to child-resistant packaging and have prepared the following video that shows you how to open the pack. https://youtu.be/Si6aKj-1doQ “ Please reach out to us on RayovacConsumerServices@energizer.com or give us a call on 1-800-237-7000 to assist you better. Only by resorting to wire cutters could I finally extract the batteries. Heaven help you if you needed to change batteries quickly. How many pairs of scissors will be destroyed chewing open the plastic? Yes I'm old. That frequently goes with needing hearing aids. How many children are endangered to justify such extreme protection?
New child safe packaging is ridiculous.

Opening your new packaging requires a scissors which not everyone carries with them when away from home. I am a senior and it is frustrating trying to cut the rigid plastic to get to the batteries. I could not find the 312 batteries in the original pack.

I bought some new size 13 Rayovac HA batteries and did not pay any attention to where it said "Child Resistant Package." That is on me. But they are a pain, because, like many folks, I carry my batteries in my pocket or in my car. I do NOT carry a pair of scissors with me. Not only is it inconvenient, cutting the package with scissors leaves nice sharp edges on the plastic. And with this new packaging I would not reach into my pocket for fear of gouging a piece of skin off my finger. I think you should have a bigger warning on the package.

Most of my battery changes are done in situations or locations I do not have access to scissors. I need to change batteries from my pocket with a minimum of fuss and quickly.. Pre-cutting the package dumps loose batteries in my pocket. I also cannot put used batteries back in the package for proper disposal.

I just received my child resistant packing batteries size 13. This packaging is absolutely horrible. It requires you to use a pair of scissors to open, that is okay if your setting at a desk at home with scissors available. What happens if I am away from home? I must now carry a pair of scissors in my pocket every where I go? I am never around small kids like most of us seniors who are the primary users of these hearing ad batteries. This package is crazy. I plan to notify my battery provider VA and recommend that they change to a more usable package for seniors.
Would probably be fine...if I could get them out

Used these batteries for years, and they were fine (4-5 stars). They’re probably still fine, but I can’t remove them from the packaging.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received your batteries from the VA and am very disappointed by the child-proof packaging. It is not easy to get then batteries out of the package and the old style was far easier to employ. Is there anyway to simplify the unloading process? The child-proof packaging is commendable, but not easy for me at age 94.

The batteries are great . It’s the “child proof” packaging that is extremely inconvenient. I like to keep a package of batteries in my car but I don’t travel with scissors to cut out each battery. Got to be a better solu.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am supplied these batteries by the Veterans Administration. The child resistant packaging is very difficult open and extract the batteries. The plastic is just about impossible to cut with ordinary scissors. I used a small pair of wire cutters to breech the outer edge. It was still difficult to extract a battery. A huge fail on the packaging engineers. I guess I’m in the one percent who couldn’t figure this out in a minute!

These are usually a good price and on sale usually when I need them! I think they last a good amount of time, about two weeks and are good quality! I also appreciate the huge quantity, so I can separate them and put them in several different places!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Rayovac size 13 hearing aid batteries are very long lasting. They work very well and the packaging is very appealing. However the batteries are tiny so that makes changing them very difficult. I find that in my father's case his hearing deteriorated with age along with eyesight. So I think they could be improved by having tabs to help insert the batteries and remove the batteries.
