submitted by Chris - 8 months ago
  • A: Hi Chris, thanks for reaching out about Razer Ornata V3 X Low Profile Gaming Keyboard for PC Using the Razer software for your keyboard will give you a very wide variety of ways to control the lights on the keyboard. Downgrade from the v2

I just bought this keyboard to replace my Ornata v2 (which I bought back in 2021 and held up very well) and the v3 is a HUGE downgrade. I highly dislike the membrane, which doesn't even work on half of the keys (especially the space bar), and the RGB is much worse than the v2. My biggest disappointment was with the wrist pad, which didn't magnetically connect to the keyboard (this was a feature the v2 had), and the wrist pad is just plastic, whereas the v2's was a soft squishy material. I'm definitely returning this tomorrow.

Low quality - 11 months ago, Verified purchaser
I purchased this for my wife to use in our home office and she let me know the "S" key had started to peel or fade. Upon inspection I noticed the issue on several other keys. Razer Support let mw know this was "standard wear and tear" and would not replace the keyboard or offer me replacement keys, even to purchase. This keyboard is cheap for a reason and I would recommend looking elsewhere. The RGB is cheap as well and not worth using.

Lasted 2 months before some of the keys stopped working, mainly the back space. Threw the box away so I can’t return now. I don’t recommend this product.

I will start my review by saying I'm a casual gamer at best so my keyboard needs are not what someone else may need. I also work from home a day or two a week so I wanted a keyboard I could use for work as well. I've been a mechanical user for the past couple of years but I was ready to try something new. In the work sphere, this keyboard works pretty well. The low profile keys make it easy to type and I like the full size layout. In the gaming sphere, I'm not a huge fan. This is one of the cheapest things that Razer makes and you can tell. The lighting capabilities are really poor and you can't really use the Chroma software to fully customize it. Barely sliding the keyboard back a little on my desk makes the feet collapse which is really annoying. I do like that it came with a wrist rest. Like I said, you get what you pay for and for under 40 this isn't terrible but if anyone is looking for a good gaming board, or looking to gift to someone, I'd look elsewhere.

The keyboard is great. It’s not too loud and has everything I was looking for and I was able to lock the RGB color instead of letting it cycle. Though a key will randomly be stuck on once in a few weeks even though I’m not hitting it. Like I never hit T but it types endless T until I unplug and re plug in the keyboard.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoyed this keyboard! The keys responded nicely and it felt nice on my wrists without having them to be strained. I loved the colors it emitted as well. I don't work from home but I do dabble in survey sites or sweepstakes so this keyboard helps me out a lot for those reasons.

This is a great keyboard to get things done for a really nice price, but for being razer, not having access to all the synapse features is a bit of a bum. So you will have to buy the chroma version for that. Deffinetly gonna upgrade soon but works well in the meantime.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m someone who games after work for maybe 2-3 hours and the keyboard is perfect for me. The setup is easy and I like how customizable everything is. The keys have good spacing so I’m not accidentally fat fingering things I didn’t mean to press. I really like the lighting mode that syncs up with audio - its a lot of fun!

Best Keyboard I have Ever Used

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I feel like this keyboard was made for me. I am a pretty heavy gamer but hated the sound and feel of the mechanical keyboards. The key caps are tactile but subtle. There is no excessive clicking sound but they still offer the perfect amount of physical feedback. It still offers macro setup just like other Razer products but in a classy and office-friendly package. I would also like to mention that the wrist rest has been fantastic. I originally did not think it would contribute much to my work/gaming use but since I've used it, I have had significantly less pain in my wrists. This keyboard is a home run and I would recommend this to anyone.

Super nice keyboard but custom light features iffy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not technically "silent", but extremely close! The design and functionality are thoughtful and streamlined without compromising ease of use or customization. The wrist rest is minimalistic, but surprisingly comfortable. It doesn't clip onto the keyboard, so it does need to be separately moved if you adjust the keyboard. No complaints about the design or key customization, however the most visible and fun part of the keyboard, the colored backlight, is a bit disappointing, as we ran into software issues that prevented us from accessing the customization menu for the LEDs. This was a huge let down, as the presets feel extremely limited. I spent quite a bit of time online trying to troubleshoot, and realized that there were several other users who ran into the same issues. Despite pouring over an hour into trying several seemingly convoluted "fixes", I was unsuccessful, couldn't get it to work, and ultimately gave up. The other seemingly cool aspect is that the keyboard color is set up to sync with a ton of different games, but to be honest, it was nearly impossible to tell whether it was actually coordinated to the game or not. A short description of what it is supposed to do would be helpful, otherwise it's really anyone's guess whether it's random or actually customized to play; there's just no easy way to test/verify it. The keyboard itself functions very well, however it could probably use a few software tweaks to upgrade aesthetics.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this product mostly for my everyday keyboard, I like the way the lights change. I know its more of a gaming set but it works really well as a decorative setup. My nieces and nephews like to game so they tell me that the keyboard is really cool, I know this is more on the expensive side but I would repurchase as a gift for a gamer

The buttons are easy to press and aren't super loud so that makes my wife happy. It seems really responsive and I haven't had any issues with lag at all. So far I really like this keyboard.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited when I received this keyboard! It works great so far with no real issues that can’t be dealt with however it’s simply a normal membrane keyboard with green backlighting. A few things I disliked were the feet’s become detached with any sudden movement, also the wrist rest attachment is hard plastic and not very comfortable for long use. I wish they gave you at least an option for white backlighting as the green can get a bit much at times. I do like the travel distance even though this is non mechanical, typing feels nice and not to mushy like other membrane keyboards in this price range.
