submitted byJM - 7 years ago
  • A: (re)zips are dishwasher safe on the top rack using low heat. For best results, hand wash is recommended.

So far I love these bags. Holds just as much as their ZipLock counterpoint, and I find they wash & dry better than the Stasher brand bags (they also had water spots no matter what). I had no issues with drying these bags; I just placed them on a kitchen drying rack (one for hand towels, etc.) and have kept them propped open on a water or wine bottle. Any remaining moisture was taken care of with a paper towel. I see a bunch of reviews about the packaging stating they’re dishwasher safe, but mine specifically stated to hand wash so they must have updated their care instructions. Haven’t had any issues with staining or smells, but I haven’t used them for anything like that yet so we’ll see. As it stands now I like these much better than the Stasher brand.

Laura C - 8 months ago, Verified purchaser
I thought these would be silicone, but they are actually like a vinyl/plastic material. Although they are supposedly food-safe, I don’t trust this kind of plastic.
1 reply from (re)zip team - 8 months ago
Hi Laura C, Thank you for your feedback! We understand how important it is to feel confident in the materials used to store your food. Our (re)zip bags are made from PEVA, a food-safe material that is tested by third parties to meet the global standards for food safety. They are BPA-free, lead-free, and completely freezer-safe. While they may not be silicone, they are designed with your health and safety in mind to store food.

Difficult to wash and dry properly
1 reply from (re)zip team - 10 months ago
Hi Doris, the best ways to clean your (re)zip bags are - Handwash: Add a drop of dish soap with water to your bag. Seal it up and shake it around. Rinse thoroughly. Dishwasher: Prop open bags on the top rack. Wash on a standard setting. Note: do not use high heat and sani-wash settings, which can damage (re)zips. To Dry: Prop them open on a rack (or even a glass or wooden spoon will do in a pinch) and allow them to dry thoroughly or wipe them with a clean towel before storing. The box will tell you they're dishwasher safe. They are not. They do not close after being washed in a top-rack dishwasher. Waste of money.

Short-lived plastic in the trash. They crack/rip in the freezer. They get stained and hold smells. I would recommend silicone bags instead.
1 reply from (re)zip team - 1 year ago
Hi EP, (re)zip reusable storage bags are made from durable, freezer-safe PEVA, which is also recyclable. While some foods might leave a scent or stain, a simple trick of warm water and baking soda mixture can help with that. For more tips, please visit our Customer Care section at rezip.com

Hi Emmya7, to make sure your bags are easy to zip, you can periodically wipe a thin coat of olive oil along closure grooves to keep them closing smoothly.

These suck… I love the stashed brand, there is no fuss when it comes to closing the containers… These though are extremely difficult. They are flimsy and I followed the directions for washing on the top rack and still feel like they are ruined after one wash. GO STASHER BRAND.

These are really nice bags if you don’t put them in the dishwasher. I put two in dishwasher and couldn’t re-zip them afterward. The others that I hand washed in pretty warm water were completely fine. They are great for the kids lunch and storing vegetables.

I wish I could give these bags 5 stars. They are good quality and fit sandwiches well. However, they are marked dishwasher safe and although the integrity of the bags are still intact, the zip is IMPOSSIBLE to close once they’ve been washed in the dishwasher! I DO NOT RECOMMEND WASHING THESE BAGS IN THE DISHWASHER!
