REBBL Vanilla 26g Protein Shake - 12 fl oz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This protein shake by Rebbl was like your average protein shakes. It has a lot of protein and the flavor was just ok. I think I expected more creaminess and coconut flavor but it tasted chalky.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to like the Rebbl protein shake I tried, but I just don't think it's a great product. Maybe it's to someone else's taste, so I'll go into better detail. Here's what I did like: - It's a genuinely high source of plant-based protein (>1g protein for every 10 cal) - This thing has got a lot of dietary fiber!! 5g per bottle - The ingredient list is fairly simple Here's what I didn't like: - Display: When I bought Rebbl from my local Target, I thought that they had gone bad or been stored in improper conditions. I wanted vanilla, and every bottle seemed to have sediment on the top, which you could see through the clear plastic. An emulsifier would probably help this look less unappetizing. I also am not sure why, but it seems like the bottles are. . . vacuum-sealed? The bottles were all sucked up and the plastic could literally spin in your hand. No idea how to describe it, it was strange. Every bottle looked like this, but vanilla to a worse extent than other flavors. Combination of these things made me believe that they were all stored in improper climate, expired, or manufactured incorrectly. I almost didn't get this product to review because it looked so off. - Taste: Pretty bland. At first you get hit with a bit of vanilla, but the most noticeable thing about this product's flavor is the coconut milk aftertaste that won't. leave. you. Seriously, it sticks around and I'm just not a fan of how strong the flavor profile is. I'm even Southeast Asian, we love coconut milk. . . but not like this. . . you only ever get this taste if you drank coconut milk straight from a can. - Texture: Probably what I disliked most about this product. It's a bit gritty from the grains. It's also very thick when cold, and since it's a perishable product, there's no other way to have it. Feels gross to chug since coconut milk gets its texture from fat. . . and that also makes it pretty useless for any gym-goers who prefer to down their protein shakes. - Macros: I like the creativity in trying to use coconut milk and grains for a plant-based protein shake, but the macro balance is just pretty strange. I could see someone drinking these on a bulk if it weren't for the other issues I have with this product in regards to fitness, but maybe I'm just more of a stickler about how I want to consume my daily allowances of fats and carbs. Maybe the audience here is people who just struggle more to get their daily protein and nutrients in, rather than those who are into fitness, but then I fail to understand why a higher protein version needed to be made when Rebbl has another shake with ~15-20g of protein, if I'm remembering that correctly. - Perishable: It needs to be refrigerated, but there's no convenience in that. You can't throw it in your bag in the morning and drink it at the gym in the evening. Plus, the refrigeration makes it harder to chug if you're into chugging your protein. Overall, this wouldn't be my pick for a protein shake. It just doesn't fit my lifestyle or dietary choices very much, and it doesn't amaze me enough in any capacity to become an exception.

Whey typically upsets my stomach so I was excited to try the high protein non-whey option from rebbl. I really enjoyed the vanilla option- you could see the vanilla beans in the drink and the flavor tasted real vs manufactured. The protein amount in the shake was also higher than most plant based options which was a big plus. I can’t wait to try more flavors.

It was creamy, delicious, and had the perfect texture. The ingredients are clean and I love that it incorporates mushrooms and pea protein! I will definitely be purchasing this again, as it is important to keep up with my daily protein intake! You could drink this as a snack, pre-workout drink, or post-workout.
