Step 1 Mix : Pour ammonia-free colorant in cream developer bottle. Shake until mixture is completely blended.
Step 2 Apply : Part hair into 4 equal sections. Apply mixture to root area at each parting. Don't rub into scalp.
Step 3 Leave in : Leave the mixture on hair for 25 minutes total. For resistant gray hair, leave on for extra 10 minutes. For blonde shades, add an extra 20 minutes to total processing time.
Step 4 Rinse : Add a little warm water to hair and gently massage color mixture through hair. Rinse hair completely.
Step 5 Conditioning: Apply the ultra-hydrating cream conditioner after color application. Leave on for 3 minutes and then rinse with warm water.

I mixed 2 shades together because I can never get the exact shade I want from one color which is totally common. You can mix sister shades (50/50, 80/20) ratios. Whatever works for you. I mixed dark brown and black, and I got a beautiful cool toned dark brown. All greys covered. Make sure to section your hair.

The Colorsilk so far did cover my grays well and seems to last. My hair also felt in great condition when I washed it out. The smell was ok and about you’d expect from hair color. Overall I like it and would purchase it.

My hair looks almost the same as before, with no noticeable change. I even left it on longer than recommended, but nothing worked. Total waste of time and money. Would not recommend!

This generation of Revlon ColorSilk permanent hair color is new and improved, with "bond repair complex". This means that the same great formula that is vegan, has no ammonia and covers gray 100% now also features keratin proteins to held restore the hair shaft. After use, my hair was not only fully covered, including the grays, but it was also soft and manageable. The roughness of my hair's cuticle was gone, leaving with me smooth, frizz-free hair.. Very happy with this result.

It’s super affordable but at the same time one of the best out there! Covers my grays so well and makes my hair look healthier. I think the shade black is perfect for the winter (in the warmer months I like the lighter brown shades) but the shade is so dark that it stained my bathtub. I had to take extra time to clean so I took off a star because of that.

It does exactly what it's supposed to. If you match your hair color on the side of the box, it will turn out the color it says it's supposed to. Leaves your hair with a shine & silk to it. Refreshing your hair is exactly what it does. While you’re coloring your hair, it does not have any overpowering smell before, after, or during the process. It also does not burn your skin. I also dye my eyebrows with this and it doesn’t burn or irritate my skin in any way.

The color turned out amazing, my hair feels soft, and the bond repair actually seems to work (unlike my attempts at cutting my own bangs). The downside? My bathroom now looks like I lost a fight with a bottle of ink. No matter how careful I was, somehow, dye ended up on the sink, the counter, and—mysteriously—on my elbow? Bottom line: My hair looks fantastic, but my bathroom needs a forensic cleanup team. Worth it.
