The first Rice-A-Roni product was created in 1958 when Vince, inspired by an Armenian style rice pilaf, placed rice and pasta in a box with a dry seasoning mix. Originally named for its combination of half rice and half pasta, Rice-A-Roni quickly became a staple in American families’ meals. Rice pilaf has been one of my favorite Rice-A-Roni flavors for as long as I can remember. It is very tasty and filling and extremely versatile to use with different meals! Unfortunately, I’ve been having a difficult time finding it at my local grocery store. I often have to go far away to a target and buy it in bulk. My favorite recipe for this one is 1 box of Rice-A-Roni rice pilaf cooked as instructed on the box, I just also add about a tablespoon or 2 of lemon juice. Then I serve it on the side with grilled chicken breast (marinated in Italian dressing ) and sautéed brussels sprouts!

I love your product and trying to determine how much to buy to serve 65 people as a side dish. The box says 3 servings then says 2.0 ounces. The math doesn't add up. How many cups does a full box make?.

I'm super disappointed my family been making rice pilaf since I was a kid,we All loved it. So I wanted to make it for my family now, but I cant find it anywhere and you changed the ingredients? Please consider going back to the old product, its an American favorite

I grew up on rice a roni, but haven’t made it in awhile. My 80 year old father asked me to make this for him but the product has drastically changed. The texture is gummy and no one liked it. I made it again and followed directions to a T and got the same gummy results. The picture on the web site is how the texture is supposed to be but not how it turns out now. Very disappointed.

I used to make this constantly. Several times a week. Mixed with veggies. It was the perfect meal. But I don't eat meat anymore, and this has chicken in it. I wish there was a veg-friendly option

I was introduced to this product about 40 yrs ago. It has been a staple for me ever since. Rarely will you find me not having it in my cubbard. My husband of 20 yrs loves it too. It is great with any protein or veges especially green beens with sauteed onions. Instructions are to the tee.

I have bought this product for years and always enjoyed it! However, now the product has changed and not for the better. The rice pilaf no longer has vermicelli and the seasoning packet has changed drastically. Why the change? Please consider changing the recipe back!

My family loves this rice. It is simple to make and makes a great easy side when you are not sure what else to make. It has great flavor. We don't not follow the directions 100% and it still turns out fine. Fsilry priced for a family on a budget.. Would recommend.

We love the microwave packages! We buy large quantities. Since covid hit the new taste and texture is NOT the same. Please go back to your original recipe. Will have to pass on your product from now on. This is so sad!

I always bought the microwave cups and loved them. However, lately they have a strange taste now. I buy the chicken and broccoli cheddar flavors and they just taste bad now. What happened to my favorite product? I wish they would go back to the old recipe because I no longer want to buy them. Rice a Roni… it’s no longer “my” San Francisco treat.

WoW, so many bad reviews about the changes in texture and taste that people are saying has happened lately. Glad I stocked up a year ago because all of mine are still great. The Rice Pilaf, is the best of your selections, and I have used it for 50+ years. Tried some of the others, but they are sub par to the Pilaf. And yes, many times the stores are sold out of Pilaf. At any rate, thanks for all the wonder years of allowing use to eat Rice-a-Roni

This pilaf has been my favorite for age-at least 10 years! I make it probably twice a month and my son devours it like it’s candy. I haven’t been able to find it on grocery store shelves lately though. I spy the microwave ones every time, but they’re just not the same.

The taste for the rice pilaf is great. However the back of the box nutrition does not match what is listed on this webpage. So I don't know if the wrong picture of rice is shown or the nutrition info is wrong.
