Fish burps

I like the nutrients included and that you don't have to take a separate dha supplement, which I've done before. I don't mind the mint essence. Unfortunately this gave me fish burps, which I've never experienced before. That's a deal breaker for me.

Seems like a good prenatal

This isn't my go to prenatal vitamin but I take this when I can't get my powdered form prenatal in because I don't have my daily smoothie. It seems like a good prenatal. I still prefer my other brand but this is a good backup.

Don’t take these if breastfeeding/pumping! After finishing my prenatals, I switched to these at 2 months postpartum and they immediately tanked my supply. I’m exclusively pumping and had an over supply, but once I started taking these vitamins I could barely pump 2 oz each time. This was super stressful until I finally realized it was the vitamins that caused it. I never leave reviews but I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. Nature Made pre/postnatals are the best and ever since I switched back to that brand I’m back to pumping my usual amount

Have been using Ritual Prenatals first during pregnancy and switched to Postnatals after delivery. Have been staying fit and healthy, had no issues with recovery or even with milk production.

This vitamin 100% negatively affected my breastmilk supply. Peppermint is known to adversely affect supply and I am shocked that a company specifically targeting postnatal women would use it. After reading some reviews other places, I have seen that the company responded to other users concerns stating that the oil is only in the insert things and not in the capsule itself, however, it seems to still be enough to have affected mine and others’ milk. If you are breastfeeding or pumping, I would not recommend this vitamin at all. After ceasing taking this vitamin, my milk supply began to return.

Mint essence is too much!! Heard great things about the brand, so wanted to try these and the mint is awful. Finishing them because they were so expensive but won’t ever buy again.

These look so nice but taste so bad. The other reviews were right but I thought I’d give it a shot. I cannot get over the horrible taste of the mint, it is too strong and leaves a bad aftertaste. For the price and amount provided (2/day so 30 days worth) it is not worth it imo. For those of you gals who still want to use them so they don’t go to waste I recommend drinking water and then putting the pills in your mouth, swallowing both after, that’s the only way I’ve been able to take them anyways.

Hi there! We're sorry to hear that the mint essence was too strong for your taste. If you prefer, you can remove the mint essence to help lessen the flavor, which might make taking the capsules more comfortable for you.

Took the Prenatals my whole pregnancy and loved them. So I just decided to continue postnatal, wrong choice. The smell is so fishy and gross that touching the vitamins for 5 seconds to put in my mouth makes my hands smell for hours. Do not recommend at all.

Hi! Our vegan algal oil can contribute to the smell/taste, but it shouldn't be unbearable or leave any smell on your hands. It sounds like a capsule may have broken in your bottle. If you haven't already, please send us a note at my@ritual.com. We'll be happy to look into this for you.

I like these vitamins except for the mint flavor. It upsets my stomach and tastes like your swallowing gum. Please make these in another flavor!

Loving the postnatal so far! I’m 2 months postpartum and am so glad I have this postnatal to help give me the nutrients I need while nursing and recovering! I’m interested to see how it helps with postpartum hair loss which hasn’t hit me quite yet, will possibly update my review later on!

I purchased these to help support me during postpartum and breastfeeding. I definitely see a difference so far I love these , it's been hard to find a postnatal that's easy to swallow as well , this one was a winner for me.

I’ve been pregnant and/or breastfeeding for the past four years, so I’ve also been taking a prenatal for that long as well. As a plant-predominant eater with these high nutritional demands of lactation and pregnancy, I always want to have a prenatal with several key nutrients to make sure I’m reaching the respective RDI’s: choline, Vitamin D, B12, iodine, and DHA/EPA. Before discovering Ritual, I had been taking a prenatal that didn’t include DHA/EPA, so I ended up taking three supplements: a regular prenatal, an algae supplement from Nordic Naturals, and a B12 liquid supplement just to make sure my B12 was covered. When I saw Ritual had DHA/EPA in their prenatal/postnatal vitamin, I jumped on the opportunity to cut out two of my supplements in replace for just one. About a week after I quit my old prenatal I started to get chapped lips (particularly in the corners). I equated this with the fact that it was winter in the Northeast, so it was just the dry air. However, my cracked lips have continued and with it being June, I realized it could not be the dry air since it’s now humid as all get out. I realized that after going through both my daily dietary and supplementary intakes of various micronutrients, I was probably not getting enough Riboflavin (plant based sources include spinach, kale, almonds, and tempeh among others— all of which I eat, but not enough to meet the RDI for lactation). So I checked my Ritual Supplement and found that it doesn’t contain ANY B2. This seems like a massive oversight since they seem to market their vitamins as Vegan and thus towards a more plant-based customer base. And since it can be difficult to get enough B2 on a plant based diet and B2 is critical for the growth of fetuses and maternal *daily* intake is essential for nutritionally adequate breast milk, I’m confused why B2 (among several other B vitamins) are missing from Ritual’s prenatal and postnatal vitamins. Thankfully, after about a week of supplementing with 200 mcg of B2, my chapped lips are almost completely healed. So, it would seem that B2 was my issue. I plan to include more B2 rich foods in my daily diet as well, but just a word to the wise: if you’re a plant based eater who is relying on these vitamins during pregnancy or lactation, please consider an additional B2 or B complex multi vitamin. All the best x

These sound appealing and look neat but taste absolutely terrible! They are “mint” flavored and supposed to be vegan but make me burp and every time it takes like fish oil. It disgusts me. I won’t be buying these again.

This is my favorite vitamin ever! Super easy to take and I actually love the mint after taste. I stopped taking it for a month because money was tight and I just didn’t feel the same or as well. They also have good deal often so keep a look out for that!

I took Ritual prenatals my whole pregnancy and I had an extremely healthy baby. I decided to continue taking the postnatals after delivery and I’m so glad I did! Having the proper nutrients while breastfeeding has been key for me. Also I’ve had NO postpartum hair loss this time around my hair actually seems fuller and thicker, which was not the case with my first pregnancy! I highly recommend all ritual products!

Best time I found to take these was after Lunch- to avoid fish tasting burps. Pros: postnatal formula, packaging, mint taste Con: cost and burping fish taste/mint
