Q: can they go in tye freezer

A: Thank you for reaching Rubbermaid. We appreciate your interest in our products. Our Rubbermaid Brilliance Food Storage Containers are made of materials that are safe for freezer use. Please note that plastics are less flexible when cold or frozen and may break if dropped. Also note that water expands when frozen, so when filled to capacity the container could expand and crack and the wiper seal could be deflected. Have a great day!

Q: I understand that the bases of these contianers store easily by nesting them, but I have not found an easy way to store the lids. Can you explain how I can do this easily?

A: Thank you for your interest in the Rubbermaid 10pc Brilliance Leak Proof Food Storage Containers with Airtight Lids. The lids for the Brilliance do not nest or stack on each other, unlike the EasyFindLids food storage system. We usually just recommend to put the lids on top of each other according to size, or stack them upright.

Maybe your next generation design takes this into consideration.

A: Hi Divergirldb, The Brilliance food storage containers have an airtight seal and can store vegetable, fruits leftovers and more. The product can be frozen or stored in the refrigerator. We do not have a time of when the food will perish as it varies on several factors.

The price was reasonable for this set of containers but right out of the box the lids are extremely difficult to remove. The seals on the lids make for a very tight seal. That seems like a good thing but when you try to open a container you almost need a crowbar to pry it open. Seriously, it's ridiculously hard to get a lid off. I would not recommend this product to anyone at any price.

Lids are cracking. I purchased the medium, small, and sugar containers. Rubbermaid replaced the lid of medium container once. Recently, I bought more containers to give them another try, and I also intended to give some as gifts. However, the small 1.3-cup container developed ridges and its lid as well as medium size cracked. I'm not sure if the containers I gave as gifts also cracked. I'm very frustrated because I was hoping these would be durable storage containers for the long term. The manufacturer has been aware of this issue for years, yet they continue to sell poor-quality products to unsuspecting consumers. It seems that Rubbermaid is making a significant profit, with no incentive to provide customers with a reliable product.

Item looks good but dont hold up. They will soon begin to crack and the lids are hard to wash all the crevis's. Find something more durable the plastic is lucky if they last a year, considering what they cost and how long they last you will probably be better with disposable containers

I usually stick to glass containers to be more ecoconscous but sometimes you don't want to lug a glass container on your office commute and these come in handy for those times. So far the suction snap lids as leak proof and overal sturdy. If they are still holding up in a few months I will likely get more.

I have been using these containers for a few years now. They provide a great seal and make storing leftovers a breeze. Come over very clean in the dishwasher (top-shelf) and do not easily stain from spaghetti sauce. I have a variety of sizes and they always arrive well packaged. They do eventually crack (took 5yrs for my first one to crack) due to the vast temperature changes they go through. It works great in the microwave and the lids have vents so you don't have to worry about them blowing off. Their seal prevents liquids from coming out once the lid is on and clicked into place.
Not leak proof or dishwasher safe!

I’ve been using these every day to tote my lunches for about 6 months and have been very pleased with their performance. Until recently, I did not have a dishwasher and hand-washed only. I have run them through the dishwasher maybe twice now and they have TOTALLY LOST THEIR LEAK PROOF SEAL!! Yes, this is on the top rack on a normal cycle with no crazy heating or sanitizing. I would not have put them in the dishwasher if they weren’t advertised as dishwasher safe…. Huge bummer, now I have to keep them in plastic bags to prevent leaking in my backpack.

Even after years of use, these are still as good as new! The seal is strong, assorted sizes make packing up leftovers a breeze. None are stained, even after holding Bolognese. So far, these are the only food storage I WON'T lend out to friends or family, these stay with me!

I am very dissatisfied with the plastic line. I made multiple purchases of the brilliance line in glass and plastic when moving into our new home. They are not microwave safe nor dishwasher. Let’s just say when I called Rubbermaid and I was told that they can only go in the microwave for 30 seconds and that they should go on the top rack in the dishwasher. Not sorry that you feel that way can we offer you a promo code etc. while she chewed in my ear. Nevertheless, DO NOT GET THE PLASTIC.

Nice looking, good stack ability, snap lids work great-however-spend extra on the glass version. The plastic brilliance containers develop cracks, and the ‘no leaks’ claim goes out the window at that point. Even though I hand wash all dishes, these did not last long enough to recommend to anyone. I did call warranty service, nice conversation, but learned these pieces are now only warranted for 120 days. Not worth it.

The Rubbermaid brilliance food storage containers are some of the worst I’ve ever purchased. They look pretty, and they seem nice at first. Out of the box they seem high-quality, but they are not, just expensive. They are very difficult to open. Of course they can be utilized to store any type of food, so they are versatile in that way but, they do not last long. They scratch really easily, even though they are dishwasher safe they quickly will crack. Within the first couple of months of usage, I had to reach out to the manufacture to replace several of them due to cracking and leaking. My set is almost gone as I’ve had to throw most of them away because they all end up cracking. I will not purchase this again. I have the pantry set as well and that seems to hold up a lot better. I suppose since it’s never exposed to any heat by microwave, or dishwasher, but again, it is not a product I would buy in the future and for that reason I do not recommend it. They are expensive pieces of junk.

I tossed all my storage containers and purchased the Brilliance collection. They started off wonderful. However, after a years use, they are all cracked and stained. Pretty upsetting due to the price.
