A: Hi Debbie, The vents on the Brilliance containers are located under the latches. When heating the containers in the microwave lift the latches and heat for 30 seconds and then stir. Repeat the process until your food reaches your desired temperature. Once the food is done remove lid completely.

I use these containers on a daily basis. I was apprehensive about the plastic lids when I first got the containers and needless to say they didn't disappoint in disappointing me. The lid has cracked right where you need to push to put it on the container. And, as I see in these reviews, I am not the only one who thinks it's DUMB that Rubbermaid does not have replacement lids for these containers. Until the quality goes up to keep the lids from breaking, replacements are a must. Get on the ball Rubbermaid.

I got rid of all my containers and purchased these and also received as gifts. I got all sizes. I really liked the look and sizes. I have a lot of them. After a year and a half they start cracking. I’ve not even used them in the microwave or freezer. Top two shelves of my dishwasher and refrigerator only. Very disappointed. This was a big expense to replace everything with these.

Can't find replacement lids anywhere. Lids were cracked and the rubber around it gets ripped. Do better Rubbermaid! I now have a set of 4 glass and no use of it. I tried calling the phone number that's on the reviews and the voice recording said, that they don't have available lids replacement and I couldn't even go beyond that. No help!

I love the Brilliance containers. The issue is the lids, they crack and break. I can deal with that, plastic lids will break. What is unacceptable is that Rubbermaid doesn't sell replacement lids. You end up with nice containers with no lids. It's time to look at Lock n Lock.

We've had our Brilliance containers for quite a few years, so that we would stop using so many ziplock bags.But, today, while heating up some pasta in the glass Brilliance container in the microwave, right around the one minute mark, it literally exploded into a thousand pieces. Sorry to say, but we won't be purchasing more Rubbermaid Brilliance containers.

I have been buying these for a few months. I keep buying to meet my freezer and refrigerator storage needs. I have every size at least 3 and 4 of each size. I have no problems with them. I love them. I will give any of these as a gift.

Dangerous, exploding Rubbermaid glass dish!

We bought two Rubbermaid glass dishes with lids (lids have plastic latches). Size is 8 cups, model 2N88 1-A. After removing the dish (no lid, as it's not oven safe) from a 375F oven for 30 mins, the glass dish exploded in my oven-mitted hand before I could set it down. Glass flew as far as 6 feet away. Thank goodness I moved my puppy away from the oven before I opened it and that none of the glass flew into my face or body. It was one of the scariest kitchen accidents, that I've ever had. These dishes should be recalled or re-classified as NOT OVEN SAFE.

We purchased these containers for leftovers and lunches, and found quickly that the lid has cracked. The glass is unaffected, but the cracked lid makes it's unusable and I have been unable to find replacement lids only to purchase. Disappointed in the quality of the product especially given the cost.

If I could have given this no stars, I would have. My husband and I purchased the Rubbermaid Brilliance glass storage containers because we thought they would be more durable. I was reheating some food in the microwave with only a paper towel to keep food from splattering and not even a minute in, the glass container completely shattered!! Wow…is all that I can say!! I will never purchase this product ever again. I’m just thankful it didn’t explode after I opened the door!! Do better, Rubbermaid!!

I received a set of these for CB rust as to replace all of my Pyrex with cracked lids. Things were going great until one of my dishes exploded in the microwave after about 45 seconds. The dish had come out of the refrigerator, but nothing was frozen and the lid had been removed. I have microwaved cold Pyrex HUNDREDS of times without issue. For the price, I would expect microwave safe to mean microwave safe.

Great...except the lids

We have 12 of these. They are perfect for us. Fit our lunchboxes, hold enough food, are durable, and they don't get stained cause they are glass. HOWEVER the lids are trash. The first 6 we had all cracked after the first couple of months. The second set of 6 we got a month ago are starting to go and they all seem to get worse and worse. One of the sealing handles broke off and others are sure to follow. And you can't just buy replacement lids?? This is a clear problem that many people here are complaining about and rubbermaid is leaving money on the table by not just selling packs of the lids so it doesn't even make sense from a capitalism standpoint. Not to mention they could just make better lids I bet.

The glass container is great. The size is wonderful for meal prep and easy storage and I much prefer the rectangular shape to the circular or square shape of some of Brilliance's competitors. That being said I am VERY disappointed that there does not appear to be a way to purchase replacement lids. I never would have purchased this product had I known. As many of the other reviewers have stated and shown in pictures, the lids crack over time which is understandable however, without a way to replace them the container losses much of its functionality. I hope that rubbermaid will start to sell lids separately like some of their competitors. Until then I will not be purchasing anymore of these.

Disaster. Baking dish exploded for no reason

Disaster. I baked a casserole at 350°, took it out of the oven and enjoyed two servings, and the next thing I know the casserole dish exploded. I cannot believe this. What a mess A million pieces. And for no apparent reason-- no cold surface no water no tapping or hitting or jarring.. it was just sitting there and it exploded. And yes I have lots of pictures to prove it. I also read on Reddit that someone had one of these exploded in her dishwasher! I'm an experienced cook with years in the kitchen and I've never had anything like this happen. This product should be recalled. I expected better Rubbermaid; it's not like this is cheap no-name merchandise. I would give it less than zero if I could.

We have used these glass containers for years. I even threw out all of our other plastic containers. Even my high school sons say how great these containers are. They work in the fridge, freezer, microwave and oven. It is nice most of the containers have the same lids, so you don’t have to hunt for the right one.

Love the glass ones! We use them for food storage in the fridge mostly. I love that the lid locking mechanism is black instead of multiple primary colors. The Glass is substantial. I wish there were two or three more size options. I would like a larger size (10 cup), a 6 cup and a divided glass version. It would be nice to get rid of my Corning Ware and Pyrex pieces, so that they all match and have airtight lids. I could free up so much space in my cabinet.

I bought 3 glass Brilliance in the last 90 days. The base construction is wonderful the lids are poorly designed and made. No real explanation of unnecessary flimsy clips and the hard plastic cover makes breaking the seal to reopen hazardous. 2 of 3 have broken and I am of medium strength and 63 yrs old. The 3rd one is sealed Nd I have not the strength to open it- forever sealed. My original product “easy find lids” have operated successfully for almost 20 yrs without issue. If still available I would have bought more of that product…they work…for any age, any user.
