Rubbermaid Plastic Double Walled Horizontal Outdoor Storage Shed, Sand/Brown

I have had one of these on my covered porch for 20yrs. Still just as good as new. It gets sun/rain on one end in the afternoon. Stays dry. I can see how you probably would need to have it on a level surface to fit together properly. I have two of the same type/material by rubbermade in full weather for 20yrs, holding my farm gas cans. Palmetto bugs love those, but i spray inside once in a while. Still holding up great.

I bought this box a while back and I can tell everyone honestly this is a waste of money and time this box took me 3 hours to assemble it is ridiculous how hard it is to slide the peaces together not including the fact that if you try and force the peaces into shape the lid doesn't go on I would not recommend this product to the average or even above average human because to put this box together you must have a masters engineering degree plus be a superhuman athlete. I have had this for 5+ years and was kept in the yard surrounded by trees. I had a baseball glove stored in it (among other sports equipment) that I forgot about after years and it was kept dry and still usable. As with any storage container, bugs and spiders were present, most likely because it is dry. Sometime over it's usage the roof rod went missing but did not deter from protecting the items it stored. I also never used the lock ring mechanism that protrudes through the roof and never saw the roof ajar after storms. I assume that is the reason for it to ensure it doesn't get blown open.

I bought this shed used and it has been a great product. I use it to store storage containers, garden supplies , and little things that don’t fit inside the house. I lost the lid though when we moved recently. Can I purchase a new lid? Does Rubbermaid sell parts?

As always, another great product made by Rubbermaid so it’s definitely good quality. So easy to assemble, I actually did it myself and didn’t have to have any help from my husband unlike everything else lol . I use it to put my trash cans in ; outside so that no animals can get to them and much to my surprise, it has withstood all of the heavy rain and snow storms and never once gotten anything wet inside!

Dimensions are exterior and the inside holds less than stated. A bit disappointing.

every piece is a nightmare to get into another piece. you have to hold one piece to get another in without leverage The last piece the top will not get into the five grooves on the top. slamming down on the top does not work. everything I thought it was secure the top would slide off and fall back behind. Once it is assembled it works as its designed to but after a few hours I am still not complete and stopped the pieces are not perfect to slide and fit.

Purchased 3/4/22, installed 6/17/23. Leveled ground first, then everything just snapped together. Seeing similar sheds, I placed a heavy tree branch on the lid to give additional weight to the lid so high winds will not lift the lid, possibly breaking the resin latch (which seems to be a little under sized). Quality seems to be good. Used to house a well pressure tank at a lake cabin. Drilled a 5 inch hole for the well pipe, and a 1 1/2 inch hole for the water line to the cabin. I plan on using non expanding foam under the tank itself for floor support. The floor is 2 inch thick, but is actually a resin floor attached to a bottom resin floor with a hollow core.

Just bought this to store my lawn mower outside and it works well. have room for additional items. Has molded in spots to install a shelf and the instructions to build the shelf are in the assembly instructions.

Bought this a few years ago to hold my patio cushions. Top has warped so that it pops off the hinges when closed. The rest of the box is in great condition. Without the top on securely, it's pretty much useless.

It warps. Have 2 cabinets a tall one and one horizontal for yard/pool items. The sides warps along the hinges on both cabinets and doors fall off when opening. I guess plastic and the sun don't mix even though its in the sun for a few hours. Nothing mentioned about not keeping it in the sun.

Don't buy this defective product. You better off buying a wood one. Or even building one yourself if you're handy.

Still looks a good and works great after 10+ years of Iowa weather... 30 below zero, thunderstorms, etc. keeps my things dry.

I use the Horizontal Storage Shed to store my emergency generator. I can lift the lid (there is a built in brace to hold it open) open the doors and run the generator right inside the Shed. I have a typical deck box with a lid that lifts that I use to store cans of gasoline for the generator.

we bought this to store our 2 galvanized garbage cans in to keep the dogs etc. from getting into the garbage and it works great-we farm and we're purchasing another one to put on our agriculture spray trailer to keep pumps and chemical supplies in. Happy with the first one so buying a second

Many of us cyclists need weatherproof storage and head for Rubbermaid. They look perfect for porch, back yard, apartments, with their lockability and PVC construction. However none of them have interiors 6' end-to-end to accomodate full length without dismandling, 30" wide to accomodate handlebars, and 48" high to accomodate adult seat and shifters. Time for Rubbermaid to add this to their product lineup. It would be a shoo-in for college towns! But if it's for kids bikes - perfect! Teach the kids to park the bike put their helmet there, too.

I purchased this horizontal storage shed for our homeowners association snow shovels and ice melt. I had no problems assembling it. The plastic is tough, BUT it is also flexible. I don't doubt it will last a long time (like a rubbermaid outdoor trash can). Even with a padlock, it is not secure at all. With padlock in place, it took about 20 seconds to get in. If you don't care about security, it's a fine shed. If security matters, do not buy. Oh and ... it looks great.
