Q: Can this be used on a cotton fabrics? Specifically a T-shirt for a one time wear Halloween outfit. If so, will it be extremely stiff and crack easily?

A: Thank you for reaching out. Rust-Oleum Universal Spray Paint provides a hard coating that can not be applied to fabric surfaces. As the fabric moves it will cause the paint to crack and peel. We hate to disappoint but we do not currently offer a paint for clothes. -Rust-Oleum Product Support 14

The can also needs to be shaken often during application to prevent any pigment from settling. It's a beautiful color, but it doesn't spray evenly and it leaked all over my hands. I've done a lot of spray painting and this is by far the worst type of spraying can.

Be sure to vigorously shake the can for at least one minute once the mixing ball begins to rattle, as well as frequently during use. All this shaking keeps the pigment (color) well mixed inside the can, this typically results in excellent color. The coverage is ok. I like the spray trigger, it gets less pain on my hands than the old type on top of the can.

I was able to finish painting one chair before the humidity and rain caused me to pause my project but I am looking forward to finishing it soon! The paint covers really well with a few passes and looks very professional when dry. I recommend painting out of the wind but in a well ventilated area to avoid triggering any smell-activated migraines, but once dry, there is no odor. I recommend this product wholeheartedly!

Every year I have to spray paint our mailbox or it looks faded and we get a letter from our HOA. I have used this product last year and this year, we just used it for good measure. It was the first time our mailbox withstood an entire year without fading. I will stick with this spray paint from now on..
