Listen to what everyone is saying. This game is TOO HARD. Not a begginers game. Even me as an adult can’t even go past the jumping stage where they teach you what buttons to use to do certain things. Too frustrating even for an adult

Seriously the most frustrating game I’ve ever played … and I’m 34. Far too hard for my 6 yr old so he’s always needing help $ then I can barely figure this game out. I can’t find anywhere with a diagram for the controls. We looked online, the box, tried pressing start, etc. We cannot figure out the double jump (supposed to be clicking A twice) which made the first level take us 40 minutes only for the game to freeze when we found the final Ryan coin. I’m ready to return the game and get himself else because this is ridiculous. They played Minecraft Dungeons for hours this morning solo (two 6 yr olds) before we made it 2 minutes into this game before they were begging for help & I ended up being stuck playing for them. If you’re looking for a game for your kiddo to play independently this is NOT it.

If you have a kid who likes 2D games like SuperMario, but those are still too hard... then this game is a great option! My 4 year old loves Ryan and he enjoys playing this game with his Dad together. It's still a challenge for him and he needs help, but that just means it would be suitable for slightly older kids, too. 4 stars because there are a few glitches that are annoying and could have been found and fixed. Overall a fun game whether you know Ryan or not, and also a good first Switch game for preschoolers.
