Book Synopsis

Who Would Sabotage the New B&B?

Breathe in the nostalgia of everything old red truck in book two of a new cozy mystery series.

It's summertime in Mabank, Texas, and the Hadley family's new antique business is open and running well with Tilly, the red antique truck, as its mascot. Raelynn Hadley enjoys driving Grandpa's truck around as she seeks out antiques for her family's store.

Raelynn is excited that her best friend, Tasha, will soon open a new vacation rental to accommodate the area's growing tourism, but an unexpected act of sabotage threatens to spoil all that Tasha has worked for.

Raelynn immediately gets to work sleuthing out who could be behind the crime. Could it be the bitter neighbor, intent on spoiling Tasha's plans? Perhaps it's a nearby resort owner, worried about the potential loss of revenue. Maybe it's the former owner's daughter who was left out of the will and believes the home should be hers. Or maybe it's the squatter who had taken up residence in the home before renovations. Raelynn is determined to solve the mystery for her friend in time for opening day.

Read also Tracking Tilly by Janice Thompson.

Sabotage at Cedar Creek is an excellent tale in The Little Red Truck Mysteries series. This is book two but you do not need to read book one. RaeLyn is set on helping her dear friend, Tasha, open her vacation rental. However there are some mysterious events happening that could interfere with the opening of the rental. RaeLyn and Tasha seek to solve the mystery and save the rental all while enjoying either existing or potential new relationships. Will RaeLyn’s brother be noticed by Tasha? How about sweet Aunt Bessie Mae? Did she ever have a relationship in her youth? This wonderful book is a sweet tale of romance, mystery, and adventure. Readers are sure to enjoy the pleasant story and share in the exciting story. Sit back and enjoy a wonderful tale. I throughly enjoyed this book and recommend.

Business is thriving in Mabank, Texas. Tasha is getting ready to open a vacation rental house. All is going great until someone starts trying to scare her out of opening. Several possibles come to mind but no concrete evidence. Her best friend Raelyn (I love that name!) tries to help when she’s not working in the family antique store. I would enjoy browsing in there. Mabank is such a fun community to get immersed in. They planned such an elaborate July 4th celebration that involved nearly all the businesses and area churches. I would have loved to be there! The mention of all the food throughout could also cause a body to gain weight just thinking about it. The sabotage of the rental house is the main focus but all these fun additions added to this reader’s enjoyment. Surprise ending as well! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through Celebrate Lit but was not required to write a review.

Reading this story was like returning home to catch up with family and friends! Author Janice Thompson takes us back to Mabank, Texas for another adventure with Raelynn Hadley and Tilly, the little red truck. The Hadley family antique store is doing well, tourism is on the rise, and Raelynn's friend is about to open a bed and breakfast to accommodate the visitors to Mabank. Until...someone tries to stop it from happening! Sabotage at Cedar Creek is book two in The Little Red Truck Mysteries series. It's a delightful story filled with intriguing characters, plausible motives, and clues that kept me guessing until the end. There's also sweet romance between not one, but two special couples! I recommend this book to all who enjoy romantic cozy mysteries. There's also a bonus of two recipes from Aunt Bessie Mae! I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

RaeLyn Hadley and her family are thrilled that Trinkets and Treasures is doing well. RaeLyn loves working in the store and seeing all the fantastic items people bring in on consignment and the items her family has found at different places. RaeLyn is excited that her best friend, Tasha, has acquired a beautiful home. She plans to use it as a family rental for the tourists to enjoy. By renting it out, she will be able to pay the mortgage. The house is one of a kind, with older pieces of furniture rather than new and modern furniture. RaeLyn has helped put the finishing touches on the house. When an unexpected act of sabotage happens, Tasha is afraid her dreams of this house might never come true RaeLyn and Tasha are on a mission to find the culprits. Bob Reeves has a petition to stop her from making it into a rental. Clayton wants the sale not to go through, as he has his own plans for the area. They also feel they can’t trust Conner and Belinda Keller. The original owners left the entire property to their son, and his sister Belinda feels it belongs to her. You will find different romances thrown in and how happy most of the Hadley family is when love is in the air. It will keep you guessing until almost the last page. This is my first time reading Janice Thompson's books, and I can’t wait to read more of this series. I would highly recommend this book.

I love when books are based in Texas, one of my fave places to visit. This is book 2 and unfortunately, I missed book 1. I loved the mystery and the romance and the small town feel of the book with its interesting characters. There is a little suspense, but is definitely a cozy mystery. There is also a bit of humor in the book. I love going to B&B's and so this story definitely resounded for me. There were several possible suspects that were making it a bit difficult to be certain of who was doing the sabotage and why. You will enjoy the fun story. I received an ARC copy from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
