I bought this as a treat for myself. Could use more than 4 recipes.. Can I make tiny buns in this too? I used 6 eggs (to make 12), and some pre-sautéed diced potatoes, onion, carrot, mushrooms and half a block of diced spinach. I placed a small amt of veg in each cup, then poured egg to 3/4 full afterwards. Delicious! …but so tiny. Be sure to have a good serving of spuds, toast or rice ready, or you’ll end up eating all 6 eggs worth. Cute for kids snacks, lunch box, afterschool. Needs a second tray to pre-fill while cooking first. I’d love it if it made a 3” one to fit in a Ozery multi grain flat-bread round. Or if I could make more in one batch. (Otherwise it’s half an hour).
what fun!

what fun! and easy! almost no cleanup -- i whip my eggs with a fork in a paper cup, which the dog can lick, then put in with my burnable trash. i use the fork to lift the eggs out (forgot to use the wire lifter) and they can be eaten with fingers! the egg cups stay clean; i forgot to spray them once and they still came out clean. they kept fine in refrig., and quickly warmed in microwave. ate one a day for several days. oh, and one day i chopped one up and made egg salad. this is a quick way to make "hard boiled" eggs -- and no tricky peeling, as in regular hard boiled.

I love this device. The egg bites are great and my grandson loves them. The problem is that the coating on the egg bite trays is coming off down to bare metal. Is that safe?

Hi Eug, we appreciate your feedback. The egg cups are aluminum treated with a non-stick coating. Safe to use if the non-stick is removed but removing the egg bite could be difficult without the non-stick. I suggest you contact Salton's service department for a replacement egg cup tray. Great product, bite molds are bit small. It will be nice if this could be bit bigger. Cooking time is around 8-10 minutes and I suggest to apply oils to the molds. All in all it is worth buying

It's hard to mess up with this I've learned. I just throw some veggies into some beaten eggs, sometimes I add cheese. Cooks really fast. I do spray oil between batches. The size is perfect for my hubby and I now that we're empty nesters.

What an incredible product! I have attempted to replicate these many times without success. Thanks Salton! So versatile and easy to use. My son stole the first one so had to get another which my daughter took to school! Much cheaper than going through the drive thru.

This is my new favourite kitchen tool! About 8 minute cook time for each batch. We have mixed up the ingredients to whatever is in the fridge or personal preferences. The water does not evaporate each time - I am able to cook two batches without adding more water. 5 eggs makes 8-10 bites. I use spray oil between each batch to ensure an easy removal. Would definitely recommend.

I like eggs for breakfast but not having to clean up a frying pan, spatula and mixing bowl afterwards. I used to make poached eggs in the microwave but they do occasionally exploding while being cooked! That is a mess that takes an hour to clean up. With this Salton cooker, I mix two eggs and some seasoning together in a medium sized measuring cup with a beak, pour it into the four cups, sprinkle some grated cheese on top (or not) and ten to fifteen minutes later you have the perfect breakfast. The texture is amazing! Light but firm and no oil or butter is involved at all. So, a good low-fat, low-cholesterol breakfast. And what is there to clean up afterwards? The non-stick egg cup thing which you can just run under the tap and give a wipe with a paper towel. I had never heard of such a thing before and although it was an impulse purchase I am completely happy.
