Both 1tb 980 pros have been flawless, and still operate after 4 years pf daily loaded operation as if they were new. No I haven't tried them in raid, but they are perfect either way. Also 890evo 1 tb ssd I use as my proxmox bare metal server stack, and it's nice but wish it was a tiny tint tiny bit faster on the write speed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Samsung 980 Pro 2TB about 2 years ago and it is a high-performance SSD that delivers impressive speeds but while its sequential read and write speeds are among the fastest for PCIe 4.0, real-world performance doesn’t always reflect the advertised numbers, especially for everyday tasks. The drive runs hot under sustained workloads, and if you get the non-heatsink version, thermal throttling can become an issue without proper cooling. Firmware problems in earlier batches raised reliability concerns, and although Samsung addressed them with updates, it left a stain on its otherwise solid reputation. Other than that, pretty solid product I do think it's worth the value because it's been working for me without fail.
