Create a truly theater-like experience in your home when you add the HW-Q990D 656W 11.1.4-Channel Dolby Atmos Soundbar System from Samsung to your TV. The system is made up of a soundbar, dedicated rear speakers, and a subwoofer. The majority of your audio fills the room from 11 front-firing drivers, while four up-firing drivers and up and side-firing rear speakers work with Dolby Atmos or DTS:X support to immerse you in sound, even from above. Samsung's Spacefit Sound Pro feature calibrates and auto-optimizes this output based on your room, so you're always assured the best possible experience possible. The HW-Q990D is for more than action-packed movies though, Bluetooth and Tap Sound make it easy to stream your favorite music and playlists too. When matched with a compatible Samsung television, the HW-Q990D can utilize Samsung's Q-Symphony technology to work with the TV's built-in speakers as one.Both Adaptive Sound and Active Voice Amplifier help you to better hear vocals in music and dialogue in shows and movies. Adaptive Sound intelligently adjusts audio, even at low volumes. Active Voice Amplifier detects ambient room noise to optimize on-screen voices. Easily stream music through the system with Tap Sound. With a simple tap of your compatible smartphone to the soundbar, Tap Sound will pair them both and let you immediately play your favorite tracks and playlists.

Fantastic Sound System!

Beats Bose and Sonos hands down
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just don’t stop getting amazed with the quality of sound, EVERYDAY, after nearly a year of owning this. No joke, but I bought a Bose system for nearly 3x the price in parallel, and returned it in favor of my Samsung system simply because the seamlessness of use as well as sound quality on Samsung was 10x better than Bose. Also I recently got a Sonos setup for my other room, and I can vouch that Samsung system is better.

Not satisfied with product
I have been a Samsung customer for long time was favorite brand, but they lost quality and overpriced, missadvertise products and price. Quality of the sound bar you can get much better for the price... Purchased 98" TV and sound. Returning back....

Incredible surround sound – totally worth it

Dolby Atmos on the Q990D is insane — you really feel effects moving around and above you, especially with the rear speakers. Dialogue is crystal clear, bass is powerful, and everything from movies to PS5 gaming feels like a real theater experience. If you want true Atmos immersion, this is it.

Easier to use than earlier models

I would recommend it for the money that I spent for it on sale, but there are some idiosyncrasies that you need to keep in mind.

The surround sound is super immersive, bass hits hard, and everything feels like a real home theater. Setup was easy, no lag, no issues. Honestly one of the best soundbars I’ve tried . Totally worth it!

The 11.1.4 setup creates a fully immersive Atmos experience — you can clearly hear sounds from above, behind, and all around. Dialogue is crisp, the subwoofer adds great depth without overpowering the room, and the rear speakers make a huge difference. HDMI 2.1 passthrough works perfectly with my TV and gaming console. Build quality is excellent, and Samsung’s SpaceFit Sound tuning really improved my room acoustics. Overall, this soundbar system delivers theater-level performance in a simple, wireless setup. Highly recommended!

Sounds very clean and clear

Good but not great

The surround is amazing and I can hear every detail watching movies and playing video games. I highly recommend getting this sound bar!! The sub woofer is great as well. Overall an amazing purchase!!
