Q: i want to create the overlay look shown in the images above but i am not sure what to do about beddign sizing. The quilt and most comforters are the same dimension so i dont know if i should size up quilt or size down comforter

A: I attempted to emulate the same look and it failed. I have a queen bed so I bought a king sized scalloped edge quilt and a queen sized quilt for the top overlay. The king sized scalloped quilt is oddly shaped and small. It does not hang to the floor like in the photos. I can get it to hang to the floor at the foot of the bed and on one side of the bed, but not both sides! It's just oddly shaped and those pictures are totally deceiving.

It does show a shorter edge on each side and front. I see a longer blanket on one pic and a dust cover under it in another pic. I think they looked adorable, plus you don't want dust bunnies hitting the hem.

A: Thank you for your interest in the Opalhouse Scalloped Edge quilt. Yes, the quilt and shams are machine washable. The detailed care instructions are; Use front load commercial washer and dryer. Machine wash warm normal. Wash with like colors. Only on-chlorine bleach when needed. Tumble dry low. Remove promptly.

Loved the design and the color and the scalloped edges. My biggest complaint is that it was washed once and the insides separated and now it looks patchy and almost discolored in the places.

I really wanted to love this bed quilt - and I did. I loved it for a bit but then the filling started to get noticeably lumpy after several washes. The stitching made it less noticeable after first but then it just looked ugly. Loved the color and all until then.

This comforter is a beautiful terracotta color. The scallops are so darling! I will say, if you are looking for an ultra plush, super soft blanket, this might not be for you. However, I am a fan of wool and linen and fabrics like that, with a very gentle coarseness, and so this blanket is perfect for me. I have yet to wash it, it may soften more when washed. It’s a nice thickness that works in several seasons. Plus, my cat loves it!

My bed is a size queen so that’s the size I purchased my quilt. It’s just to short and after I washed it, it clumped up everywhere. This isn’t the first quilt I’ve bought from the same brand that has done this. Not buying this brand again. The designs are beautiful but not worth the money if it’s gonna mess up after first wash !!!

This is a nice quilt for our guest bedroom, but it is a little stiff. I don’t think I’d want to use it every night, but I feel like the price is right for use in our guest room. The color is a little brighter than the product images in my opinion.

Love the color the quality is awful! No need to add more photos of the same thing that everyone else has shared. It’s good until washed, there was fading yet the filling bunched up like wet toilet paper and the threads started to unravel.

My favorite quilt. Actually purchased to use in our camper and it’s great. Very oversized in my opinion but I actually like that. Lightweight yet so perfect for all seasons. Don’t hesitate. The color is vibrant and spot on.

Love it! I don’t know why this has so many bad reviews. I wash this alllll the time and it has held up great!! Soft and the perfect weight for sleeping! Love the scalloped edges! I have the pink/blush color, not sure if maybe the other colors weren’t as good. I actually came here to buy another one so that I can rotate when I’m washing. Wish they would bring it back, it’s been out of stock for months.

I was so excited to buy this for our new bedroom suite. Usually Targets Quilts hit the mark and last. However, after a few washes it balled up and became this very ridge like texture. I wish I could return it because its awful! Do not BUY! You'll be so sad.
