Q: Do these training wheels fit a Schwiin Deelite 20 inch bike (youth)?

submitted by Rachel - 4 years ago
  • A: Hi Rachel, While we do our best to make training wheels fit as many bikes as possible, there are exceptions to this depending on the design. The design of some bikes, particularly this model, are made with a rear axle that is too short to accept the additional width of training wheels and brackets. It may be possible to have a local bike shop extend the axle to accommodate the training wheels or bike stabilizers may be another option. Thanks!

Q: Will these training wheels fit Schwinn Signature Girls' Sunnyside 20” Bike

submitted by MMM327 - 9 months ago
  • A: Hi. Sadly, some 18" and 20" models do not have an axle long enough to safely support training wheels, and you will most likely need a set that mounts to the frame and not the axle. We recommend working with a Professional bike shop to ensure the training wheels are safely attached. They're the experts we rely on when it comes to adding components to a product that was not originally manufactured on the bike, additionally, they'll have all the resources to make sure you get the right training wheelset. Please reach out if you have any questions. Have a great day,

They will be able to check into the compatibility of your model and recommend upgraded replacements to safety install on your bike. Warm regards,

These training wheels are praised for their easy installation and sturdy build, making them a reliable choice for young bike riders. However, compatibility issues with certain bike models, particularly Schwinn, have been noted. While some guests found them perfect for their needs, others experienced fitment challenges and missing parts. Overall, they are a cost-effective solution for many, but checking compatibility with your bike model is recommended.

I’d give these a negative 5 starts if I could. Purchased and installed these on my son’s bike and within a month or so, the internal part of the wheels fell apart. The wheel now has too much play and barely hangs on. Have to look for another set of wheels. I think it’s a tremendous ripoff to pay $18 for these for them to last just one month.

Doesn't fit our 18inch bike. Tried all combinations on the wheels and they are either too high or too low. Oddly enough our neighbors came by with the same pair and they were having the exact same problem on their 14 inch bike. Would not recommend.

    Thomas K - 1 year ago
These training wheels inexplicably do not fit on a Schwinn 20" bike due to insufficient length of the axle. Schwinn's response to other customers observing this same problem is ridiculous. I'll be returning these training wheels and the bike I purchased them for. I'm really disappointed in Schwinn for messing this one up.

Anne - 1 year ago, Verified purchaser
Advertised as fitting wheels 12-20", but was told by customer service that it actually doesn't fit 20" Schwinn bikes (like I purchased) because the axels on them are not long enough to accommodate the training wheel assembly.
1 reply from SchwinnCustomerSupport team - 1 year ago
Hi Anna. We're sorry for any confusion. These training wheels are designed for 12-20" bikes. However, some 20" models do not have an axle long enough to safely support the training wheels and will most likely need a set that mounts to the frame and not the axle. For this reason, we highly recommend working with a Professional bike shop to ensure the training wheels are safely attached. These training wheels were really easy to install. My son has special needs, is 80 lbs on a 20 inch bike and I was worried that it would be wobbly but they are sturdy enough to hold him while he learns how to ride. I would definitely recommend them for the price.

Does not fit on a Schwinn 20" bike. Schwinn Customer Service comments on all of these reviews to tell you to buy an axle extender to use this product. How they sell this without making it work on their own products is incredibly silly. Quite an inadequate response. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
