Description
The Scosche PI100CL INVERT100 Car Power Inverter with 100-Watts of power lets you power & charge up to 2 devices at once. Plug the 12V adapter into your vehicles 12VDC outlet or any other 12V powered outlet for power (not to be used in a cigarette lighter socket). The 12V plug pivots to accommodate various 12V accessory locations. Once plugged into a 12V outlet, use the AC wall outlet to charge your small electronics or other devices which receive power from an AC plug. Get power output levels at up to 150W peak. The LED indicator turns green to let you know that the inverter is powered on or red during standby with the power protection mode. Featuring multiple layers of safety for a safe charging experience. Protects against overheating by the built-in cooling fan, along with 20-amp fuse. Additional features include short circuit, overload, and temperature control protection. The 12-Watt USB port lets you fast charge most standard USB devices with up to 2.4AMP’s of power. It is perfect for charging during driving or while stopped on the road. Q: Why do we have a 20 amp fuse in this? My car cigarette lighter has a 15 amp fuse. If there is any issue, my car fuse will go out - which I don't want to happen. The fuse on this should be only 12 amp

A: The PI100CL power inverter is rated at 100W, but the maximum power output for the inverter is 150W. As a rule of thumb, the fuse size for the inverter should be 125% - 175% of the calculated current. This allows for margin of safety and helps to avoid nuisance tripping. The current input for the power inverter is 13A. Current (A) = Power (W) / Voltage (V). 150W / 12V = 12.5 or 13A. A 20A fuse is within the recommended 125% - 175% range of the calculated 13A current. This inverter works fine. I am worried that it is very loud especially since some reviews say it caught fire. That is worrisome.

The Scosche power inverter has a built in fan which helps keep the inverter cool. It turns on whenever the inverter gets power and is normal for it to be heard. I liked this product when it worked. The flexible plug was super convenient for awkward spaces. On the downside, I used this no more than a handful of times and the other day I plugged it in and nothing. The fan didn’t come on (which is kind of loud tbh) and no power came on

I'm a stay-at-home mom with two kids and I have to exclusively pump 6 times a day for an infant with digestion problems. This adapter has given me some of my freedom back, as I'm not chained to a breast pump at home anymore! I unplug this when not in use for safety, and it really doesn't seem loud to me at all. It powers my Medela breast pump just like as if I were at home.

Did not work for the mini vacuum cleaner I wanted to use it for. I thought it was the max 12V, so I tried my phone charger and the charger didn’t work.

This inverter works very well. I bought it for breast pumping on the road and it works just as it would in a home. It is somewhat loud, so I unplug it when it’s not in use.
