This power inverter lets you use the power from your vehicle's 12V outlet to power multiple devices.

Q: Hi I see earlier comments about vehicle battery drainage if using for powering heating devices but would this still be the case if the vehicles engine was running during the usage?

Q: Can this power an iron?

A: While the PI200PS power inverter is capable of powering an iron most devices that generate heat are not good candidates for using an inverter. No matter how small they are, devices that generate heat do so by using large amounts of electric power, which may ultimately run down the battery you intend to use very quickly. A: If your vehicle is equipped with a 12 Volt accessory power outlet please plug in the Scosche power inverter here, otherwise you may use a cigarette lighter outlet. The PI200PS-1 offers 4 USB ports, so you can charge 4 cell phones from these USB ports, but you can add additional AC USB power adapters to the power inverter as long as the Wattage is within the power inverter's specifications (200W Rated, 250W Max, 500W Peak). Needed an inverter for an upcoming camping trip for our five air mattresses (had a different brand last year, was absolutely useless) and to charge my phone in case of an emergency, and this did the trick! Blew up the air mattresses just like we had plugged them in at home, I used my normal phone charger whilst driving from lake to lake and my phone charged quickly. Left my Explorer running while using, didn’t cause any battery or other issues. Perfect for what we needed.

Would’ve been great if it didn’t die on the third use. Bought this in order to use my breast pump on a long car trip with my five week old, and it barely got through 3 uses before it completely malfunctioned. The fan was VERY loud from the beginning, as others have mentioned, and it went into surge protect mode during the third use and never recovered. Thank goodness we were able to stop to use electricity or my baby would’ve starved. But really, I wanted this to work so badly and it just did not.

Stopped working after 2-3 hours of useage

My wife and I are currently on a road trip lasting for about a week, and I bought this product in order to work while on the road (using it to charge my laptop). After what was a total of 2-3 hours of usage, it shut off, and has refused to turn back on. I'm extremely disappointed as this is such a good idea, but now am inconvenienced with having to stop more frequently in order to work. Two stars for the moments that the product was working.
