The BTFreq transmits music and calls through your car stereo via unused FM frequencies. Simply insert the BTFM4 into your vehicles 12V socket and connect to your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or device. This hands free car kit adapter makes driving in your vehicle safe when looking for that perfect song or making calls or if you need to ask siri a question. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this for free to review. I used this to replace a bluetooth device I already had, and I have to say this one is so much simpler to use. You just plug it in, set the station, connect your phone and that’s it. Changing the station when needed is super easy by just pressing a button and turning the knob, my old one you had to several steps to do that, so we just had to turn it off when the station got busy. The one thing I noticed was that the sound quality wasn’t as good unless you turn up the volume on the device itself, which is separate from your car or phone volume. But as long as that’s up it’s good.

Especially since some cars do not have Bluetooth capabilities and most aux inputs on phones are now obsolete. The device is easy to use and it just plugs straight into the cigarette lighter or power input. The signal strength is great considering it's right next to the radio. Great affordable device.

Works as advertised but unfortunately I get terrible, annoying feedback when I use the Bluetooth FM function while my phone is plugged in to one of the USB ports.

We are sorry to hear about the disappointing experience you had with your Scosche Bluetooth FM transmitter. First you'll want to ensure that you're tuning your car radio to a "dead", unused frequency. Find a station that does not have an active broadcast and is preferably static covered, and match the frequency on the transmitter to this radio station. The BTFM4 has a volume adjustment. Once you've paired and connected your phone to the Bluetooth FM transmitter and are streaming Bluetooth audio (music), turn and hold the Multifunction knob/button on the face of the transmitter to the right (clockwise). This will ensure the transmitter's volume is turned up all the way. The loudest volume setting on the transmitter is 30 and you should see "V30" on the display of the transmitter. If you have any additional questions or need additional support please email our Customer Service Team at customerservice@scosche.com with a link to this review, message us via our chat service or give us a call at 800 363 4490 x1, and we will arrange a swift resolution to your experience.

I couldn’t hear anything after 3 months. It was working completely fine for the first few months and then out of nowhere it just working and I couldn’t hear the audio anymore. I tiered to use it in a different car and the same thing happened. Came to the conclusion that it was the device and not the car

For me, that's a big downside. I tend to drive with the windows down, and with the volume being reduced, I wasn't able to fully enjoy the sound. If that's not something you're concerned with, then I can highly recommend this device. The sound quality is clear, set up is super simple, and the device is unobtrusive. If max volume isn't your concern, then this is an excellent buy
