Q: What is the best way that this tape could be removed from a wall in an apartment? Photos hung in an apartment will never be permanent. Most items aren't.

A: Scotch Extreme Mounting Tape: works on many finished surfaces such as finished and painted wood, metal, laminate and tile. None of the mounting tapes are recommended for use on wallpaper or delicate surfaces. Mounting Tape is meant to be permanent, and removal may damage surfaces.

Works amazingly indoors or out, especially with metal to metal contact. Make sure to warm it in the sun before peeling and USE A RAZOR to cut the tape and peel the backing off. You cannot do it with your fingers

Backing near impossible to remove

Purchased this product to help in mounting drawer fronts to drawers. Adhesion is not an issue but, the removal process of the tape backing to expose the 2nd side is near impossible. I gave up and had to purchase a different product from a different brand to finish my job.

Product does not work adhering a 6.5# fixture to a mirror. Cleaned surfaces well and carefully applied. Held for about 12 hours and then fell off. The side that fell off the mirror had minimal remaining stickiness and the side on metal rolled off with ease. The 50%+ "1" reviews make a loud statement.

This is just what I needed! I was looking for something to use on brick to put up these solar lights that I got. I just cleaned the brick, let it dry, and then stuck this tape on. It's only been a month but so far it's held up to rain and wind.

Do not buy. Ruined my walls. Pulled all the paint off to the sheetrock. Does NOT come off easily. Left black on my walls for what I could get off. I literally cried after I took my Christmas decorations down.

This is not the first time, not the second time, but now the third time that this product has failed me. I own a sign & graphics shop and I rely heavily on a product that can keep signs up on a wall regardless of what the finish is on the wall. Clearly weight is not the issue as this is a so called heavy duty tape. I hung door number signs up at a hotel that are barely a couple ounces in weight and the next day the hotel told me that most of them were on the ground. I cleaned the surface with alcohol and let that dry and applied 2 rows of tape across the back, push the signs up and down to wiggle them on the surface so the tape would really grip the wall, and pulled on them to check and they were solid. Nope, hotel management called me to tell me most where on the ground the following day. As a business owner, this makes me look terrible and I cannot rely on a product that continuously makes me look bad. Something changed in the product. Do not waste your money.

Do not use on painted Cinderblock

Well, I tried it in my classroom on painted cinderblock. It did not work. Said it would, but did not. So far, it is holding up posters on a painted surface. I am sure it is a quality product, just not for painted cinder.

pure junk. unfortunately I cannot get my money back for this since I had to use it to find out it was pure junk. I applied it pulled the backing tape off and all it was was foamy hardly any sticky to it at all. Shame on you Scotch.

I used this product to hold the front of a bathroom cabinet drawer on. It weighs about four pounds and I used the whole roll. After about six months the drawer front fell off. Does anybody know how to get the tape that is still stuck on the drawer off?

Wet disappointed. I used this tape outside for something last summer and it’s still hanging so figured I would try it again , well major fail. Used this tape to hang a curtain rod. I stuck it on the back of 3 wall brackets. First off it was barely sticky. Second it lasted less that two hours. I fell off the wall. The curtain rod was holding a lightweight curtain. I don’t understand how it can hold up my item outside? Two solar powered lights on my fence that is subjected to the elements but can’t hold a curtain rod up…
