This product needs to be pulled. It does not fulfill its basic function, which is to hold a roll of tape and dispense it. The tape roll falls out every time you attempt to dispense it, and there is no way to fix the problem.

I would like to know who thought it should be MORE expensive for you to buy refills for this tape dispenser ($9.99 for a 3 pack) than to buy whole new plastic dispensers with tape in them ($4.57 for a 2 pack). The more eco friendly version (refills) should NOT cost more than the regular plastic tape dispensers. That said, this dispenser does feel a bit flimsy, I’m not sure how long it will last. But we’ll try it out because it’s less wasteful.

I love the sustainable idea of reducing waste. Especially the plastic foot print. For those complaining about the tape falling out of the dispenser, it helps to hold it with one hand/ like pinching both sides with your index finger and thumb, and using the other hand to pull the tape and cut it on the dispenser.

I purchased this today, and upon the first time opening it and loading with a tape roll, a shard of metal went into my finger. I had to use tweezers to get it out as it was tiny. I wanted to like it, as it is low profile and metal as opposed to the plastic dispensers that always break. I also noticed that there is no guard or anything on the cutting edge so will need to keep it in a safe location, as opposed to the usual drawer I have it in.

Great idea, awful design. The tape rolls falls out every time you try to get a piece of tape. After I use the tape currently in it I’m throwing the dispenser away, that’s how frustrated I am with it. Disappointed with Scotch brand with this one. Picture shows how flimsy the metal is and the dispenser just falls out.

I'm giving this product only 3 stars because Scotch brand is supposed to be in an expert in the field of tape and tape dispensers and this product is poorly designed. While it looks nice, the lip around the ring in the middle of the dispenser does not hold the roll of tape. When you pull out a bit of tape, the full roll comes with it. You have to compress both sides of the dispenser with one hand while you pull out a length of tape with the other. Like I said, it looks nice, but frustrating to use. Scotch brand, you can do better.

Plus is tape dispenser it’s aesthetically pleasing, I love the plaid design. Scotch doesn’t let down on the quality of this tape either with its 66% plant based tape. I was pleased with the tape adhesion and strength, it feels quite strong. I can’t say a bad word, simply put it’s just an excellent addition to all your tape needs.

The dispenser is more stable & not as flexible as the typical plastic ones, it feels very durable. The tape itself was literally just like your typical tape… just as sticky, lasts just as long, etc. Kudos to Scotch for making a more eco friendly option.
