Best insurance for preventing thousands in re sod

Disease will kill your St Auugustine lawn. Then the bugs come to finish it off. I use Disease X so this doesn't happen. Stops existing scourage and prevents damage to replacement turf. It's what you need 'cause the spray companies do fertilizer and weed killer but NO disease application.

After applying I noticed incredible improvement within 5 days! Brown patch was spreading like fire from the neighbors lawn, this product stopped it immediately and it’s getter better and darker green everyday. Cannot wait for 14 days to reapply and continue to watch it improve. Tried everything and every brand this is the end all to the fungus!

Disappointed

I purchased this product to combat red thread disease. I used Scott's Elite spreader to apply at the recommended setting. The product is either too dense or slightly damp and would barely discharge from my spreader. I am considering whether to return it to the store for a refund.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Scotts DiseaseEx Lawn Fungicide and appreciate your feedback. Any moisture that gets in the product will make the granules lump together and then when it dries out it forms hard clumps. If the product is completely solid and cannot be easily broken apart, we recommend disposing of product. It should not be used because it cannot be properly applied. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please reach out to us at 888-270-3714 if we can further assist.

Consistent results that work

I always apply this in the early spring, and then every 30 days afterwards until about the end of September, my lawn stays consistently green without any diseases, before I use this, I used to have problems with yellow spots and areas that would just die off. Since applying disease-ex , People are always asking me how I get my lawn to look so good. I just tell them I’m using the Scott’s product according to the directions, my lawn looks consistently better than all my neighbors who allow their gardeners to apply whatever unknown products. I cannot over emphasize the importance of disease-ex in maintaining healthy And vigorous grass.

Coverage rate untrue

Coverage rate of 5,000 square feet not even close. One bag at preventative rate (5,000 sq.ft.) barely covered 2,200 square feet. I used a Scotts drop spreader and the calibration is correct. I know it depends on how fast you walk (and I walked fast) but I must have needed to run like an Olympian.

SAVED ME THOUSANDS OF $’s!

Two years ago, after my lawn care service insisted I needed to water more, more, MORE— I had my Extension Office come out and look at what was left of my normally beautiful yard. Through testing it was determined my yard, and that of my neighbors, all had FUNGUS. I lost more than half of my yard. My father, God rest his soul, always used Scotts products as a greenskeeper. So that’s what I did—bought Scott’s DISEASE EX and applied as instructed. I was certain I was going to have to sod— many of my neighbors did. But this is spring of the second year and my grass has come back beautifully.

A week ago I applied the product with rotary spreader. It rained within an hour of application so I know it was watered. It has been over a week and the weeds are thriving, No sign of wilting in the past 10 days. The small flowering weed I have may not be on the list. Will try another product.

Horrible instructions. Nowhere on the package does it say to water or not water after applying.
1 reply from Customer Care team - 1 year ago
While it does not need to be watered in immediately, Scotts DiseaseEx must be watered to activate the product. The sooner the product is watered in the sooner it will begin working. We have escalated your label complaint.

Finally resolved my brown patch issues

I have struggled with brown patch for 5 years now. We live near Houston and last two summers have been hotter and more humid than normal. I started applying DiseaseX in early June and set an alarm on my phone to reapply every month. It’s end of November and so far, so good. My whiny neighbor got hit hard and blamed me for the brown patch. I have been delighted to see that what she’s using didn’t work nearly as good as my monthly application.

I applied this twice during September 2 weeks apart. Both times watering it as directed. There is no noticeable change. I must note that the first bag contained a very dark brown granule. The second bag bought two weeks later was more lighter in color (gold?). Not sure why this was. I cannot recommend this product. I will wait until spring and pay a professional company to treat these large areas in my front yard.

I gave only 2 star reviews because I put this product on my backyard, called to make sure I was watering it right, guy says water it right after applying.. I note have mushrooms in some areas of my yard. Thankfully it’s not everywhere! Boy why is it anywhere? Isn’t this supposed to kill fungus and other bad things not create them!

Worked well for me in Missouri

5 out of 5 stars
jkapp - 2 years ago

I bought the 5000 sq ft bag. Worked well for me, considering the alternatives compared to what this bag costs it was worth it just to try. Almost 1 month later the brown spots are recovering well and my lawn seems to be doing much better. Even if you read the reviews some say it works some don't. For me it did and for the price even if it didn't work it was still worth trying to help save my lawn. Worthy to note, I live in Missouri. Only thing I can agree with others on is with the broadcast spreader suggested amount and what the bag is rated at for coverage doesn't seem to be accurate, coverage doesn't seem to cover as much as the bag says. Either way still worth every penny! Wish I would have taken some before photos so I could show comparison.

Cured rye grass brown patch.

My perennial rye grass lawn had brown patches and looked awful. I fertilized and treated for grubs and insects. No improvement. After using this product, and over-seeding the dead areas, the grass is finally reviving. I applied an initial application and then a second application after four weeks. The before and after difference is remarkable.

Works when you follow directions

These reviews are funny…product works great if you use it the way they tell you how to. I need to use this every year as my lawn is susceptible to disease. I usually catch it after it appears so I mostly use it as a curative and not a preventative. I’m not convinced that the early application would prevent it…but I’ll try in the spring. I have 1/2 an acre so this is not a cheap application…
