Q: Does this not contain the same strong chemicals as Shout and generics? I do not like the bleach like smell of Shout and looking for a more natural stain remover product
A: Thank you for reaching out. At Seventh Generation, our vision is to build the most trusted brand in our industry by redefining leadership through our principles, practices and partnerships. Our work is inspired by the Iroquois Great Law, “in our every deliberation we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations.” This is why we strive to create formulated products that are effective and meet the highest standards of environmental and human safety. We use the precautionary principle, which means if an ingredient has a suspected risk of causing harm to the public or to the environment, we don't use it. During product formulation we look for ingredients that come from plants (rather than petroleum) and the majority of our formulated products are tested to ensure biodegradability. Seventh Generation is proud to be taking part in the EPA's Safer Choice program! The EPA offers the Safer Choice label to company partners, like Seventh Generation, who formulate quality products that perform well and contain the safest chemical ingredients. When consumers see this label, they can be confident that each ingredient has been screened for potential adverse human or environmental health effects and that the product contains ingredients that pose the least concern among chemicals in their class. Labeled products must meet the Safer Choice Standard and Criteria for Safer Chemical Ingredients, which define safer chemical alternatives transparently based on an array of health and environmental endpoints and incorporate the technical tools of EPA's New Chemicals Program and the U.N.'s Globally Harmonized System criteria. We hope this helps!
