Sharper Image Smartsense Shiatsu Realtouch Chair Pad Massager with Heat - Black

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Sharper Image Massager Smartsense Shiatsu Real touch Chair Pad with Heat for my boyfriend after a long day at work and it worked great at first than after awhile it started to short out when you lean all the way back on it. I did love the heat setting on it and when it would massage my lower back.

GOOD THINGS: *Easy to set up and operate *Comfortable padded seat cushion *Decent price for quality/features offered NOT SO GOOD *If you're short (I'm 5'5") this might not work as well as intended. I felt like I was being pushed out of the chair, and I could never get comfortable. *The Shiatsu feature was painful and resulted in immediate neck/back discomfort.

I like that it did a body scan first, unfortunately though it didn't get low enough on my lower back.

You can even have it just massage the top of your back or just massage the bottom of your back I really like this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This massaging seat cushion has many features. I used the cushion while sitting on my couch so the strap length was not an issue. However, the bungee-type strap needs to be longer since some office chairs are large/thick. Depending on how far you are from an outlet the cord might be the perfect length or too short. I guess one could use a power strip/extension cord. The cord attaching the remote to the cushion was a more than adequate length. There is even a pocket in which to store the remote so it's not left dangling or for you to sit on. The controls for the massage features did not work as I anticipated. Pause would turn the massager off rather than actually pause causing the lengthy body scan feature to engage again and there doesn't seem to be a way to skip it. The spot feature is great when you get the rollers where you want them and can also be used to massage larger areas. Either the heat function didn't work or was too low to feel. The padded seat was more of a nuisance than a positive. It is not attached all the way across allowing it to slide around too easily for my preference. Really, it would be better if it weren't there at all. The shiatsu was impressive in intensity and those for whom it is too intense the rolling feature is great. Overall, if you focus solely on the massage features (shiatsu/rolling), I recommend this product. However, when taking all of the other features into consideration, I do not recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This massager is great because it can adjust to your body size and shape. The body scan is very fast and accurate and helps the massagers to hit your back in all the right places. The chair cushion is very comfortable and stays in place.

It is a little hard on the lower lower back but I am so happy I found this.

I actually bought my mom one because she loved mine so much. It works perfect in the recliner we have and we use it daily. I used to have a massage chair and it is no comparison to this massage chair pad. This is way stronger

You can put in on the couch, in a chair, or even on your bed, as long as the back of it is against the wall or headboard. The control remote is super to use and all the settings feel great! Nothing's better than coming he from a long day and getting a massage! I'd absolutely recommend this!

It has a control attached to it and you get to control how you want your massage. Before starting it reads your body to massage exactly where everything is at. My family and I really enjoy this baby.

I'm glad this has multiple features. Multiple area zones on the back. This does a full body scan when you begin. I also love that this come with the heat option.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Smartsense Shiatsu RealTouch Chair Pad with Heat was an interesting massager that can do different modes such as shiatsu which does a rolling massage and a bit rougher than the regular mode which does an up and down motion near the spine. It first does a body scan to find the pressure points on the body which is useful. My first impression when I first use the massager, it was a bit rough when it rolled down the lower back so I had to scoot forward which made it easier. I do think it needs some kind of cushion from the rollers because it's a little bit too big and kind of hard. I do scoot forward which makes it more comfortable when it rolls downwards and my neck area is perfect because it just massages my shoulders. I try the heat section which makes it perfect for the inflammation or pain in my shoulder and mid-back. I recommend using this on a bigger chair than a regular one or even the sofa for more space since I tried it on a regular kitchen chair it was not enough space since the rollers are big. I do feel relax and less pain when I do 15 minutes of massage by the smart sense shiatsu.

It has several settings depending on what level of massage you prefer. It also has where you can just do upper, mid or lower back. It has heat which makes for a nice and relaxing massage experience. The remote is easy to use and is attached right to the chair pad with a cord so you won't lose it. It's the perfect addition to our home especially when my husband does physical labor and sometimes just needs a small kink worked out. First of all, it's easy to put together/plug in, and if you don't have a high-backed chair, I have found that a sturdy recliner works well too. The settings on the remote are easy to understand. I put it in my office chair and turned it on, couldn't believe how wonderful I felt sitting in my chair. My back was hurting the morning I came to work but once I sat down and turned on the chair pad and did the Shiatsu button, I was able to move about. So easy to use just strap it around your chair, and plug it in and turn the pad on. The touch pad has different settings to use, whole back, upper and lower back, heat, Shiatsu and rolling.
