About this item
Description
Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game) and Martin Freeman (The Hobbit) return as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson in the acclaimed modern retelling of Arthur Conan Doyle's classic stories. But what if this wasn't the modern day? What if it was the late Victorian period? What if the world's most famous consulting detective and his best friend lived in a Baker Street of steam trains, hansom cabs, top hats and frock-coats? Welcome to Sherlock in 1895!

To my fellow science fiction fanatics wondering whether to purchase this film: do so immediately. The Sherlock special was beyond wonderful, and surely something nobody could have expected. While it branches slightly off of modern Sherlock, it twists into a riveting Victorian-Era thriller with a hint of the supernatural, supposedly. It is with great honesty that I write this review, and highly recommend this purchase to anyone who comes across it. Truly a worthwhile film, and well worthy of it's cinema release. Here's to another wonderful episode, and to future hopes of a new series!
