Q: Can these be used for swimming workouts in an indoor pool?

submitted by Swimmer - 2 months ago
  • A: Hi Swimmer, thanks for reaching out about Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 Bluetooth Wireless Headphones - Black (S820-ST-BK-US) No, these Shokz Bluetooth Wireless Headphones are not designed for swimming. While they have an IP67 rating, which means they can withstand sweat, rain, and splashes, they are not waterproof enough for submersion in water. Shokz does however offer a different model, specifically designed for swimming, called the Shokz OpenSwim. Those headphones have an IP68 rating, making them fully waterproof and submersible. They also have built-in storage for music, as Bluetooth does not transmit well underwater. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Summary of reviews

The OpenRun Pro 2 headphones offer a comfortable fit and impressive sound quality, making them ideal for various activities like running, biking, and office use. Guests appreciate the lightweight design and the ability to hear surroundings while enjoying music or podcasts. However, some have noted that the battery life could be improved and that sound quality may not perform as well in noisy environments. Overall, they are a solid choice for those seeking bone conduction technology.

Very useful and well made. Bought the mini open run pro. No complaints. Even came with 2 year warranty! No vibration and volume is about right. Would recommend magnetic charging on them but other than that great product

I love them. Sound and comfort is amazing. My pair ( I've had for two weeks ) are already dying too soon. They'll last for maybe an hour and disconnect and die. If I want to use them I have to put them on the charger an hour before use or they'll be dead when I want them. If I have them fully charged at night and off by the time I wake up 8 hours later they're dead and won't connect. Warranty replacement has already started on my end so hopefully I get a pair to replace these ones because while they worked I LOVED them!

I bought these after my aftershokz bone conduction headphones sound quality dropped. The aftershokz headphones are well over three years old, yet the battery life on them is still far superior to the headphones I received not too long ago. The sound quality is phenomenal, and they are superior in every way to the aftershokz, except for the battery life.

They are light and comfortable and im able to use them in attics and crawlspaces with no issues. i re3commend them to every one!

They are a little less comfortable than the last version. A little bit bigger. I have had a lot of complaints of poor sound quality on the phone. The speakers sound a little better than the last version.

Great product. Only complaint is the volume is not enough to be heard over commercial airline fans in flight.

I absolutely love the Shokz headphones. I got the OpenRun series a little over a year ago. Never an issue, very comfortable, doesn’t hurt your ears like most other headphones or earbuds would after extended use. You can leave them on all day. I recently upgraded to the OpenRun2 minis. I am loving the little upgrades they have done. I have mine on from the time I leave in the mornings to the time I go to bed. (near close to bed time). 5 stars in my opinion.

I dislike that both earpieces are connected together. The band that attaches to is uncomfortable. The sound quality is good, but needs at least 25% more volume as it is very quiet

Pros - comfortable and stylish. Charge seems to last long, probably around 20 hours of use before it needs a charge. Cons - Not bone conduction like previous model I owned. Seems to be more like small speakers near my ears. This doesn’t work the same for me as previous models did because of a hearing loss. Cannot use in shower, sound is terrible if they are damp at all. This was the main reason I purchased a third pair of shokz/aftershokz. This was very disappointing and considering returning for another model. Really wanted to get behind what was marketed as the flagship model of a brand I’ve loved for years but this model isn’t the same for me.

I didn't realize how much I needed these headphones until I bought them. I can wear them all day at work, for calls, meetings, music. They pair to both my laptop and my phone at the same time, so no switching back and forth. I can still have conversations in the office without taking my headphones out, it's perfect. I couldn't recommend them more!

Very pleased with this version. Had purchased earlier version which had a limited volume range--It went from too low to too high. The range of this model is much improved. This model seems to hold a charge longer and, thankfully, has a USB-C charging port.

    Great Upgrade

I bought this as an upgrade to the Aftershokz Aeropex. The audio and the battery live are even better than that original model. The latest bone conductive technology is a huge improvement. The headset itself is just as comfortable and easy to use as my model. It is a great option to listen to music while riding a bike where spatial awareness is essential to safe riding.
