A: No, the black holder doesn’t come out.

Q: Is there an actual straw inside? Mine didn't come with one and the description is vague.

A: Yes, this bottle will come with one straw as all SM retail items come "drink-ready" or "retail-ready". If you're missing the straw, you should return to Target for an exchange.

Q: Is this appropriate for a two year old? Meaning if she tips it over will it leak out the spout?

A: I would say no. I have these water bottles for my 4 year old and 7 year old. If the spout is closed, it probably won’t leak. But if it’s open, water will pour out. I think this one is for kids, not toddlers. Their ‘adult’ water bottles are an identical design to this one, except without the kiddy patterns and with bigger capacities, if that helps. However, they do make a 10 oz steel bottle with a sippy lid.

We absolutely love this stainless steel bottle! It’s sturdy, well-designed, and perfect for toddlers. We started with one and after using it for a few months, we liked it so much we ordered a second one. It’s mostly leak-proof — if your toddler is actively shaking or playing with it, you might notice a few small drops, but nothing major. Even if it falls, it doesn’t spill everywhere, and any small leaks are easy to wipe up. The stainless steel body is a big plus for us — no plastic taste, no worry about microplastics, and it keeps water cool longer than plastic bottles. It’s also easy to clean and built to last. Highly recommend for everyday use, whether at home or on the go!

This thing has been flung and thrown with all the force a two year old going through a tantrum. It has some dents but nothing compared to what I would have expected after it going through so much damage. It works great and keeps the water cool for a while. I love it and my kid does too. I recommend it, I wish it was a bit bigger since my toddler drinks water like she’s been in the dessert for days.

Purchased this water bottle for my nephew since it was time for a “big boy bottle”. At first we were concerned that he wouldn’t be able to flip the straw part up - that was not an issue! We really like that it has a handle for him to carry it on his own. Only reason thus far that we haven’t liked is that it has been dinged already from being dropped (probably even thrown if we’re being honest). Since we have our own cups with long straws, both my sister and I have the little brushes that can clean the straw attachment and bottle head easily. If you don’t have one of these, definitely look into getting one if you plan on putting milk or juice inside as well. After seeing her cousin with one, we went back and got the ballerina bottle for my daughter to take to Kindy!

After scouring the internet for quality, kid-size stainless steel water bottles under $30, I chose the SM tumbler. I'm so glad I did...it keeps my child's ice water (the only way they'll drink it) ice cold for hours! We wash it pretty frequently and haven't had any issues with mold or odd smells or tastes. The straw part of the cap resists teeth marks, too. I did purchase a separate silicon bottom to slip over the bottom to protect it from dings if dropped. We've had the bottle for about 2 months and it has proved to be an excellent, durable option. I would highly recommend 👍🏽👍🏽

Do not recommend! When I read people’s comments on how the lid harbors mold, I figured it’s because they don’t *clean* it. I am an avid cleaner of bottles (I think it’s gross when people leave their bottles for days not washing when they refill). I thought my cleanliness would help the mold problem. Boy was I wrong! There’s a silicone ring piece under the lid that does not come out for the life of it. I have tried on several occasions to take a sharp knife to pry it out, but it is stuck in there. I’ve tried to make do with sticking a small cloth in there to try and scrub what I could but that does not work long term. There is repulsive dark mold build up that I cannot get to with a sponge. Otherwise, we love this cup. But not worth the price with not being able to sanitize and wash it fully/ properly.

This product leaks. If your child or toddler leaves it on its side and doesn’t close the sipping part, it will leak everywhere. It’s hard to get a toddler to close it every time, which makes this useless. And not cheap considering it’s not even leakproof.

We love this bottle for our 14 month old who is still figuring out how to use a straw - he does great with this bottle and even though it’s a little heavy when full, he’s able to hold it himself. If the spout is open, it’s not leak proof (water comes out of the straw), but it’s manageable and it works for what we need it to. I’d say it’s easy to clean as well.

Love, love, loveeeee this water bottle. Kind of pricey for a kids water bottle, but definitely worth it. I fill up the bottle every night and place it in the freezer. The next morning, the water isn’t completely frozen and I love that!!! No fading of the print or anything. I would definitely purchase this again!

It will explode water everywhere the minute you open it nowhere near anything that can be used to clean up a huge watery mess! Constantly leaks I’ve filled up 3 purses just from their constant dripping.

Terrible design, has a rubber piece near attached to lid. Unable to take out and clean. Did not keep drinks cold. And the packaging had so much glue it was impossible to get glue tan off after picking, scrubbing, washing. Just get a Stanley kids size. This isn’t it!
