Q: Can you fully remove the straw part on the lid itself for cleaning? I understand a straw is provided for inside the lid but the top part on the lid, can it be removed so mold does not get under there?
A: Hello Amber! Unfortunately, we don't recommend removing the straw piece as it can be difficult to put back on. Washing it in the dishwasher in the open position should help provide enough sanitization to help keep it in top shape! We'd suggest airdrying as well to help ensure no leftover water is trapped. Q: when i drink out of the straw, it makes a sort of whistling sound and idk what its from. how do i fix that?
A: Occasionally the suction valve on our straw lids can get misaligned. We have an option that may serve as an immediate solution: Please use a soft small object (such as a pencil eraser) and apply downward pressure on the valve from the top of the lid. The valve is a small, circular area located underneath the straw mouthpiece. This should release the suction and allow you to drink with more ease out of the bottle. In addition, please take out the straw entirely and reinsert it in the silicone insert, ensuring there is no gap between the straw and the top of the lid. If this suggestion does not work for you (or only seems to temporarily solve the issue), please reach out to support@simplemodern.com.

Q: Is the straw soft? Like the coldest water bottles?
A: The straw for the Summit Bottle is hard plastic.

Q: Are all lids on Simple Modern's website interchangeable, or should I stick to the ones that say Summit? Thanks.
A: If you have a summit, you'll want to get a lid that has "summit" in the title. Each lid will only be interchangeable for the same style of bottle (i.e. a classic lid will not fit a summit bottle and vice versa). Hoping this helps!

Q: What color name is the lid considered? I broke mine after wear and tear and would like to replace it!
