You Need to Change the Nozzle Angle!
4 out of 5 stars

I bought this surface cleaner along with a Simpson pressure washer as a set. At first I was having the sma eissue as everyone else: it stops spinning. Well, I figured out the issue. It appears that the angle of the nozzles is not set properly in the factory. I got a socket and slid it over one nozzle, gave it a tiny bit of a twist away from perpendicular to the ground (see photo attached) then did the other nozzle, and presto…problem solved. I realize you shouldn’t turn it too far, because then it will not provide enough force to the surface you want to clean. But there is a sweet spot, a balance between cleaning force and rotation that can be had. It only took a couple of degrees of angle change, and now this thing works better than ever!

I bought this to clean my driveway. If the spray arms do not spinning with enough speed, they ended up making terrible marks. Very disappointed.

This product was included with Simpson power washer that I bought about 1 month ago. It worked great on two driveways but now doesn't want to spin. When trigger first pulled, it spins normal for about 10 seconds then slows down to a stop. Suspect binding in shaft. Plastic parts? Love the concept but will buy competitors product as a replacement. Other reviews state no replacement parts..?

Worked for several applications then the arm stopped spinning. Same issue as many others. No blockages and did not find any replacement parts. Do not buy this product. Go with a different brand.

I was only able to use the Simpson surface cleaner for about 3 hours of total time before it quit working properly. Water comes out of the two nozzles, but the arm will not spin. The arm spins freely when I push it. This is a piece of junk.

After 30 minutes of use this stopped spinning. I looked at the reviews after my problem (mistake!) and Simpson suggests cleaning nozzles and Checking screens. I don’t understand why this needs so much maintenance - I’ve had a slightly cheaper unit that lasted 4 years with zero problems and zero maintenance. I’m returning this.

As all other's have said, complete junk after one use. Solid machine, especially with the Honda motor, but the surface cleaner clearly needs help. I hope they have pulled this design from the shelves.

The first one of these that I purchased was replaced as a warranty claim, even though my product was just outside the normal warranty. While I appreciated the courtesy of a free replacement, the replacement didn't fare any better than the original. The replacement worked fine for two uses over about a two-month timeframe. When I tried using it a third time, the heads would no longer spin. Water would spray just fine, but the spinning action was non-existent, rendering this tool useless. This complaint is so common that Simpson really needs to fix this or stop selling these. I have two other surface cleaners (off-brands from Amazon) that have lasted for several years with no issues.

Wished I didn't throw out my old surface cleaner when I bought the new Simpson power washer that came with a surface cleaner. I had another manufacturer surface cleaner and cleaned great but this Simpson surface cleaner was not rotating quick enough to effectively clean and had to use the typical spray nozzles to finish the job.

Spinning spray wand seized after 15 minutes

The unit seemed be a quality unit. The problem was the bearing/bushing for the rotating spray wand seized 15 minutes into use. Used a 2200 PSI Power Washer so I know it wasn't spinning too fast to melt the components. No parts support from factory. Was considering a new Simpson Power washer but having second thoughts now.

Hello , i got this unit last week 09-29-23 and for the first couple of hours it worked great . then it started to spin slow . checked the nozzle and it was clear . i even cleared the center hub with Air . tried it again and it worked for a couple more hrs. . what kind of lube or grease to you recommend for the center hub . I think from all of the concrete debris it gets into the center hub and causes it to spin slow . or is this a poor design , i have a SIMPSON Cleaning MSH3125 MegaShot 3200 PSI Gas Pressure Washer, 2.5 GPM, Honda GC190 Engine

Does not work, worn out hub, broken tube after one use

Would not buy, bought for one project and it was the only one in town that I could get day of. I saw the reviews and figured I would give it benefit of the doubt. Used to clean an area 120'x50' smooth warehouse concrete. Worked great for first hour and a half, then stopped spinning. Checked the spinner and hub had some play on the bushing. One of the spray tubes was loose and adjusted angle back. Horrible vibration issues after, the 4 small mounting screws that mount into plastic housing had to be tightened every 30 min they worked out multiple turns and were not stripped. The Bushing wore enough through vibration and wear that it was rubbing on the housing.

I purchased this a year ago and it worked great then. Tried it again and now it won't spin. If rotates freely and nozzles are good and positioned correctly, good pressure and water flow comes out but it won't spin.
1 reply from Simpson Team team - 2 years ago
We're sorry to hear your unit is failing to spin. Spinning issues can sometimes be caused by debris somewhere in the system. Try checking the water inlet filter where the garden hose attaches and make sure nothing is clogged. Second, use a small wire (or an inexpensive pressure washer nozzle cleaning tool) and make sure nothing is lodged in the nozzle tips. We also would suggest checking the center hub for debris that may be impeding the spinning arms. Please give us a call at 877-362-4271 or email us at productsupport@simpsoncleaning.com if these steps do not resolve the issue and we will be happy to do a bit more troubleshooting with you if needed. Thanks for sharing your experience and we hope you are up and running again very soon!

Used the 15” surface cleaner to clean approximately 25’ of front walkway and it worked great. Next time I used it the silver rod with water jets rotated very slowly. I cleaned the jets and lubricated the center piece with marine lube and no improvement in jet rotation. Very disappointed in product and read that others have the same issue..

Spray Bar Bearing Wears Out

Purchased this surface cleaner a month ago and after a few hours of use, it wears out and the spray far has so much friction it locks up when trying to use it. Soft metal seems to not hold up and over time the revolutions gouge the bearing washers and they start to stick where there is no way to make them spin again. No issues with debris as I cleaned it multiple times and both nozzles sprayed.
