Summary of reviews
The Singer 4452 sewing machine is appreciated for its ease of use, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced sewers. It offers a variety of stitches and comes with useful accessories like a walking foot. Perfection in Simplicity

I have been sewing for many, many years and already have two machines, not counting the 2 antique machines I inherited. I purchased this Singer because my dressmaking machine couldn't handle heavy or bulky fabrics. I wasn't expecting much, but it is perfect and has become my most used machine. The stitch quality is beautiful, and it handles all types of fabric. The straighforward design and features are a plus in my mind. I can make a lot of complicated things with this simple machine.
A good product for the price.

My needle position does not work. It is in left position. Dial will not move needle. I can move it by hand but will not hold.

I've upgraded from my Singer Start. While the machine as a whole is sturdy, the lack of design forethought is astounding. The bobbin casing design seems a step backward from the Start. I find it more fiddly and less "heavy duty." Also the presser foot holder...why can't it stay up on its own when I'm trying to push heavy fabrics under the foot. How many hands do I have?
Very satisfied!!!

This was my second heavy duty sewing machine I bought. The first one was many years ago and it was getting weak and making lots of noise. I am sewing very much for gifts and patchwork. I know I got my miles out of that machine. Happy to have a new one. I'm from Germany and bought my first Singer machine over 50 years ago; great products, was not as happy with other brand machines.
Love Singers!

I have yet to use my new sewing machine but I have used Singer sewing machines all my life. I am giving a five star rating based on my past history with Singer and all the excellent singer sewing machines I’ve had over the years!

I purchased this recently. It is my third Singer 4452, but this one is different! I cannot remove the bobbin case without removing six different screws that are so small that I have to use a magnetic screw driver, a long handled screw driver, and “my husband” to do so! Not being able to simply remove the bobbin case so that lint can be cleaned from underneath is a pain in the neck and is very very difficult because the machine screws are so short. What a bummer, SINGER! I won’t buy another 4452 and I therefore do NOT recommend this product any longer!

Biggest piece of crap. Has never worked right since purchase. Im going to have to pay to look at something I have never been able to use. Opened my old black singer to use instead. Unfortunately the cord is missing since my move. Hope I can find one

we are a nonprofit- The Makers Hub. And we have a Tool lending library in the city of compton and a small Makerspace. These heavy duty singers are wonderful, easy for students to learn on , rarely bind up, and we just love them. They Are our favorites. I wish we could get some more, So we can replace some of our Other types of machines that were donated.

I bought this machine as a christmas gift to myself. I am very diappointed with the design. I find it very difficult to opperate. The numbers on the throat plate are too far to the rear and difficult to see. The voltage of the light seems to low to illumiate the work space. The all purpose foot is to wide, can't see the needle while sewing. I wish I had bought another model.

I bought the 4452 machine sometime in October 2024. I have always owned Singer and always been happy with it. I wanted a machine that would do light and heavy fabrics. I just needed a basic machine, this has more than I need but maybe I will get to using more of the features. I have been sewing for about 60 years, will take a little time getting use to the tensions, witdth & length of stitches, I did print the manual it would have been nice to be able to just print English.

Appears to be solidly made and assembled. Very simple to prep with third-party videos. Singer should produce simple OEM instructional videos Very easy to operate. It was a good purchase at a good price!

Machine sews well but noisy. Visual of needle threading and thread guides just before the needle are difficult to see and hard to thread. Sewing for many years so I can deal with this but inconvenient. Limited presser feet and useful stitches. Throat plate markings are hard to find so I put a piece of blue masking tape to guide me.
Singer 4452 Heavy Duty...It's good.

I have owned this machine for a few weeks. I am a beginner at sewing. I like the machine. It is easy to put thread on a bobbin. It is somewhat difficult to thread the bobbin correctly when putting it in the base. Is there an easier way that I don't know about? Used some Coats & Clark Outdoor Thread (very heavy) to sew a waterproof backed fabric through two layers of very thick border. Had to roll the wheel to start by hand. Very difficult puncture. Then foot pedal. Sewed the entire padded two layer border with no issues. Crooked as all get out (I told you I'm new) but that rascal is sewn-up. Seriously, that was a hard test. I give the machine 90 out of 100 for that performance.
